Standing Together Against Human Trafficking.
An ongoing community awareness campaign against human trafficking is being conducted through impactful street drama led by Youth Ambassadors in Rajapur Municipality–9, Deepnagar. The campaign is organized by Banke UNESCO Club (BUC), in partnership with Plan International Nepal and in coordination with the local government.
The campaign aims to strengthen awareness among children, young people, parents, and community members about the risks and realities of human trafficking, while promoting community vigilance, safe migration, and timely reporting of suspected cases. It also encourages young people to take a meaningful leadership role in community-level prevention and awareness initiatives.
The central message of the street drama is clear: human trafficking can be prevented through awareness, collective vigilance, informed decisions, and timely action. Community members are encouraged to verify employment and migration opportunities, avoid undocumented or unsafe journeys, remain alert to suspicious activities, and promptly seek support from relevant authorities and service providers whenever trafficking risks are identified.
More importantly, the campaign highlights the power of young people as agents of positive change. By taking prevention messages directly to communities through street drama, Youth Ambassadors are helping turn awareness into action and encouraging individuals, families, and communities to stand united against human trafficking.
Together, through awareness, vigilance, and collective action, we can build safer, informed, and more resilient communities where every child and young person can live with dignity, freedom, and opportunity.
