With humble hearts, we are joyful to share that Lowo Nyiphug Namrol Norbuling Monastery has received the Award of Merit and Special Recognition for Sustainable Development at the 25th Anniversary of the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Awards for Cultural Heritage Conservation, organised by UNESCO.
Selected from 90 projects across 16 countries, this honour is not only an award — it is a blessing and a responsibility.
For over 500 years, our monastery has stood as a symbol of faith and resilience in Mustang. This recognition celebrates our traditional monk-builders, the protection of our unique earthen heritage, and our commitment to sustainable stewardship.
We dedicate this achievement to our ancestors, our community, and all who supported this journey.
With gratitude — not pride — we move forward to safeguard this sacred heritage for future generations.
