About Rara National Park: Rara National Park was established in 1976 (2032 BS and Gazetted in 2034 BS) especially to conserve the Biodiversity of Humla-Jumla region.In 23 September 2007, Rara Lake was enlisted in the list of Wetland of International Importance or Ramsar Site (Site no 1695). are found in Rara waters along with one endemic toad, the Paa rarica. The park is home to around 51 differe

nt mammal species along with the Musk deer, Red Panda and Himalayan Black Bear and Yellow throted marten, Otter, Wild dog, Common langoor, Rhesus macaque among others. The snow leopards are said to be traversing this area to reach Dolphu region of Shey- Phokundo National Park. The park has recorded 272, including 49 species of Wetland Resident and Migratory birds and some important species include Bar headed Goose, Common coot, snow c**k, different species of pheasants, Great crested and little grebes, mallard, common teal, red-crested pochard and Black Headed and Pallas gulls etc. During the winter many migratory birds join the residential comprising the number of wetland birds in the Rara lake as 49 species. Rara National Park is 2.5 days trek via Jumla, 3 days from Kolti airport of Bajura or 10 days trek from Surkhet. The easiest way to reach the park is through Nepalgunj/Surkhet to Talcha airstrip followed by 3-4 hours walk to park HQ. And please do not purchase illegal animal and plants in whole or in parts or TROPHY. FACILITIES:
A Six Room- Wooden Hut (3 Bed each) and Six 2-men tents are available at Park HQ Hutu ( Danfe Lodge n Restaurant). Nepali Daal- Bhat is the most served menu. The park has a Camping Site (without charge) at Hutu. Visitors are not allowed to camp elsewhere without prior permission. Cook on firewood is prohibited so campers must be self-sufficient in energy. Both swimming and ANGLING IS PROHIBITED by law. REGULATIONS:
An entry fee of NRs 3000.00 for foreigners and for SAARC Visitors its 1500.00. An entry fee for Nepali as Guide and Porters is NRs. 25.00 is also applicable. Chooper per landing is 5000.00.
