On 23 December 2025, Sahara Nepal successfully conducted an awareness program on Cyber Security and Mobile Banking at Shree Saraswati Secondary School, Mechinagarโ€“4, as part of a Sustainable Impact Project (SIP).

The program was designed and implemented by members of the Leadership Academy of Mechinagar Municipality Ward No. 4, with support from Master Trainers from Sahara Nepal. The session aimed to enhance students' understanding of digital safety, responsible mobile banking practices, and protection against cyber risks, contributing to a safer, more informed use of digital technologies among young people.

International Volunteer Day: Action in Jhapa!

The youth of Sahara Nepal proudly celebrated International Volunteer Day on December 5th! As part of their ongoing Impact Project in collaboration with Global Learning Lab, our young leaders mobilized to give back to the community through two major initiatives:

๐Ÿงน1. Clean & Safe Streets: A dedicated team carried out community cleaning and tree pruning in Birtabazar, Birtamod-3, making our roads safer and more attractive.

๐ŸŒฑ 2. A Greener Tomorrow: In Mechinagar-4, volunteers led a plantation drive. With saplings and seeds provided by the local Forestry Office, we are growing a greener future together.

Whether itโ€™s cleaning our roads or planting new life, our youth volunteers are proving that when we work together, we can build a better Nepal.

The GL2i Approach to Empowerment in Western Nepal

We just wrapped our first Train the Trainers (TTT) session (June 13-16) with 27 dedicated leaders in Western Nepal, alongside our partner, Gramin Mahila Utthan Kendra Rural Women Development Center (RWDC)

Our methodology is simple: Empowerment through Ownership.

Instead of conventional training, we used newsprints and markers to facilitate real-time, vibrant discussions. The result? Participants weren't just learning; they were pitching projects with concrete, collaborative resource-mobilization plans.

Reflecting back on April, we are proud to share the successful launch of GL2i Nepalโ€™s first Leadership Academy, delivered in partnership with Sahara Nepal in Jhapa.

The inaugural cohort brought together 24 youth leaders from seven municipalities, supported by three certified trainers from Sahara Nepal. Through experiential learning, participants deepened their understanding of leadership and co-designed five Sustainable Impact Projects to strengthen their communities.

This milestone reflects GL2iโ€™s commitment to:
โœ” Strengthening locally led leadership
โœ” Expanding opportunities for youth across Nepal
โœ” Partnering with municipalities and grassroots organizations for sustainable, locally driven impact
