Our Story
A non-governmental organization with an altruistic view of giving a new life to the underprivileged, destitute and abandoned children was established in July of 2006. It was started merely with one room and one child but with a vigorous determination of serving as many children as possible. Within three months, the organization was already taking care of twelve vulnerable children with only three rooms. The children were recommended by various sectors of local government from various regions of the country. With the number of children growing bigger each day, it was a challenge for the founder to maintain the basic needs and requirements of the children. While taking care of 12 children, there was no any kind of financial or motivational assistance from any organization, either private or governmental. Dhana Lohar, co-founder of the organization, invested what she had from the saving of her previous jobs to bear all the expenses of the children. Those were the hard times faced by Fresh (Swachchha) Nepal when it was economically unstable yet had to fulfill all the daily basic needs and take serious care of the education and schooling for the children. It is always believed that time lends its hand to the needy ones, and in 2007, this came true from a Canadian volunteer who helped in making the first official website for Fresh (Swachchha) Nepal. This website generated ample amount of awareness and interests for well-wishers from different corners of the globe. This helped kind hearts to provide a continued assistance in many ways to Fresh (Swachchha) Nepal, generating approximately 4-6 precious volunteers per year. To this day, this organization is able to run from the support of people with big hearts, volunteers, who are destined for the better future of the deprived children.
In 2009, Maelle, a French Citizen, stepped at the premises of Fresh (Swachchha) Nepal and contributed in finding donations by personally approaching various people and organizations. Initially, Maelle helped by sending volunteers, paying school expenses and sponsoring the expenses for two children annually. Now, she started an organization it looks after 10 children out of the total of 15 children annually. With the support of this charity organization, Fresh (Swachchha) Nepal was able to get international volunteers who play vital role in the development of the children. Children are able to communicate well in English with volunteers and learn new culture and different skills from each of them. The organization is trying its best to spread the smile on the faces of other children too by finding the sponsors.
Since 2014 to 2017, CHL has became involved in supported Fresh (Swachchha) Nepal in many aspects, covering an important part of the ongoing The objective were to make Fresh (Swachchha) Nepal sustainable and independent in the future and make them able to increase the scope of their activities.
The future is yet unclear, but there is hope for Fresh (Swachchha) Nepal. Many improvements have been made since it was founded in 2006, and several great ideas are about to be implemented.
