FPAN - CSE The Central Secretariat (Head office) is located in Kathmandu but oversees project activities spread in 31 of Nepal’s 77 districts through 28 Branch Offices.

Family Planning Association of Nepal is the leading national non-governmental organization specialized in providing all aspects of sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) including Comprehensive Sexuality Education. As a pioneer in Nepal, FPAN has been at the forefront of promoting comprehensive sexuality education. FPAN introduced its first CSE programs (CSE-Project) through DANIDA and I

PPF in the year 2008. FPAN has been implementing CSE programme in formal school setting as well as in non-formal settings such as through community clubs and local CSOs funding supported from its core fund- IPPF. Currently FPAN is working together with UNFPA to implement CSE project. Major objectives of the project are to enhance knowledge of young people on CSE and improve health seeking behaviors through establishment and strengthening Adolescent Friendly Information Corners (AFICs) in schools and also; through capacity building of teacher to make delivered CSE in school and peer educator to create the enabling and positive environment in the school, community.

Successfully Concluded the 5-Day Training of Trainers (ToT) on Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE)!

The five-day intensive ToT on Comprehensive Sexuality Education has successfully come to an end. The training provided a highly enriching learning experience, featuring insightful sessions delivered by national experts and active engagement from all participants.

The training was organized by CEHRD in collaboration with FPAN, with technical support from UNFPA and funding from KOICA under the Safe Girls Project at FPAN Hall- Pulchowk

During the closing ceremony, held in the presence of the Deputy Director General (DDG) of CEHRD, all participants were certified as CSE Trainers. The newly certified trainers expressed their commitment to cascading CSE training through Provincial Education Training Centers (PETCs), local governments, municipalities, and schools, contributing to the advancement of quality Comprehensive Sexuality Education across Nepal.

Congratulations to all the participants, facilitators, and partners for making this training a great success! Together, we move forward in empowering young people with accurate knowledge, life skills, and informed choices.

Strengthening Capacity for Quality Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE)!

The 5-day Training of Trainers (ToT) on Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE), being conducted from 2–6 June 2026 at the FPAN Central Office, Pulchowk, is successfully underway. The training is organized by CEHRD in collaboration with FPAN, with technical support from UNFPA and funding from KOICA through the Safe Girls Project.

The training was inaugurated by the Director General of CEHRD in the presence of the Executive Director of FPAN, Directors from FPAN , CEHRD, Lead Trainer and the CSE Specialist from UNFPA. The event has brought together trainers and teachers from all seven Provincial Education Training Centers (ETCs) across Nepal

The training offers a rich learning experience through expert-led sessions on CSE and gender, interactive discussions, group work, videos, practical exercises, and participant reflections. The learning environment has been further enriched by engaging CSE-related games, creative songs, and fun-filled activities led by participants, making the training both insightful and enjoyable.

Together, we are building a stronger foundation for delivering quality, inclusive, and age-appropriate Comprehensive Sexuality Education for adolescents and young people across Nepal.

It was indeed a great pleasure and honor to welcome the high-level delegates from UNFPA to the central office of Family Planning Association of Nepal (FPAN)

During the visit, the delegates had meaningful interactions with FPAN staff, adolescents, youth groups, persons with disabilities (PWDs), and clients. The visit also included a tour of the clinics, including the Rainbow Clinic, Adolescent and Disability Friendly room where the delegates observed the services and initiatives being implemented by FPAN.

As one of the longest-standing and oldest implementing partner of UNFPA, FPAN was honored to share its ongoing work and contributions toward advancing sexual and reproductive health and rights in Nepal. The visit further strengthened the shared commitment and partnership for inclusive and quality services for all.

A monitoring visit for the accreditation process of FPAN Central Clinic as AFSC (Adolescent friendly service centre) was conducted at the FPAN Head Office by the team from the Family Welfare Division—Ms. Sharmila Madam, Mr. Bishnu Sir, and Ms. Amrita Madam. The visit included an observation of the overall Clinic including Disability/Adolescent-Friendly Room and a constructive discussion and meeting with the FPAN team and senior management. FPAN was honored to welcome the Delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland for an official visit and interaction with FPAN staff, youth volunteers, persons with disabilities (PWDs), and key stakeholders. The delegation visited FPAN clinics and the Adolescent Friendly Space and Information Center, engaging in meaningful discussions on Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE), Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), youth leadership, and inclusive service delivery. The visit highlighted FPAN’s commitment to youth-friendly, rights-based, and inclusive SRH services that leave no one behind.
