Maker’s Fun: Electronics in Action! 🔧💡
Last Friday, our internal team at Impact Hub Kathmandu and FabLab Nepal swapped the usual theory for a hands-on Maker’s Fun session at FabLab Nepal! 🎉
Led by Melina Tuladhar, Technical Officer, with Denjing Tamang, Technical Officer co-facilitating, the session turned electronics into a space for experimentation, teamwork, and play. Through four interactive activities, the team explored open- and closed-loop systems, simple circuits, collaboration, and learning by doing. 🔄💡🤝
Because sometimes, the best way to understand how something works is to build it yourself, get curious, experiment, and see the result come to life! ✨

Last week, Impact Hub Kathmandu | FabLab Nepal had the opportunity to participate in Sectoral Stakeholder Discussion organized by Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) where we shared our work in fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and collaborative problem-solving, and impact in inclusive Makerspace and STEAM innovation.
During the session, we highlighted our day-to-day activities, discussed the challenges faced in advancing research and innovation, reflected on the importance of sustaining innovation initiatives, and shared our future aspirations.

We also provided recommendations and expectations to help strengthen Nepal's innovation ecosystem.
We appreciate MOSTI for bringing together organizations and stakeholders to exchange experiences and ideas. We look forward to continued collaboration in creating an enabling environment for innovation and meaningful impact.

Learning beyond the classroom

On 6 January 2026, we had the pleasure of welcoming Grade 12 students from Nisarga Batika
School to Impact Hub Kathmandu |Fablab Nepal as part of their Business Capstone Project,
where students in Grades 11 and 12 work on developing their own products or services.
The session began with a brief introduction to Impact Hub Kathmandu| FabLab Nepal, its
inception, and the projects it has been working on. Followed by the hands-on FabLab tour,
where students explored machines, projects, and prototypes, and saw how ideas and designs
gradually turn into real, tangible products. In the second half, students engaged with our
business incubation and mentorship team, learning how Impact Hub Kathmandu supports
entrepreneurs, particularly those working in the circular economy, plastic recycling, and women
entrepreneurs with disabilities. Through these interactions, the students showed genuine
curiosity and eagerness to understand real-world entrepreneurial journeys, which we believe
added meaningful depth to their own learning and ideas.
We were genuinely inspired by the students’ energy, curiosity, and openness to learning. This
showed the commitment of Nisarga School to shape their students with an entrepreneurial
mindset and science capital. It was a pleasure to welcome such curious minds, and we wish
them all the best for their upcoming Business Capstone Fair. A heartfelt thank you to Aayoush
Raj Onta, Faculty for Economics and Business Studies, for making this visit possible.
