With deep sorrow and profound respect, Pokhara Tourism Council organized a candlelight vigil in Pokhara to honor the memory of the 10 mountaineers who tragically lost their lives during the Broad Peak expedition in July 2026.
The gathering included a one-minute silence as a tribute to these extraordinary climbers, including Nims Dai (Nirmal Purja), Yukta Gurung (Vice president of NMA Gandaki), and the other brave mountaineers whose courage, determination, and passion for the Himalayas inspired the world.
Their legacy will forever live on in the hearts of the global mountaineering community. May their souls rest in eternal peace, and may their families find strength during this difficult time.
🕯️ Physically gone from the mountains, never from our hearts.
