India Nepal Startup Partnership Network - Center of Excellence A non-profit Center of Excellence advancing Nepal’s startup ecosystem through incubation, technical collaboration, and India-Nepal innovation partnerships.

Supported by Embassy of India, Kathmandu. IN-SPAN Center of Excellence (CoE) is a non-profit, founder-led initiative dedicated to strengthening Nepal’s startup and innovation ecosystem through structured incubation, capacity building, and cross-border collaboration with India. Born out of the India–Nepal Startup Partnership Network (IN-SPAN) program, the Center aims to institutionalize the momentum created by the inaugural cohort of startups and transform it into a long-term platform for innovation, entrepreneurship, and ecosystem growth. The CoE works at the intersection of startups, academia, industry, and policy to enable:
• Startup incubation and venture development
• Technical collaboration and deep-tech integration
• Capacity building through trainings, workshops, and bootcamps
• Access to investors, mentors, and global networks
• Bilateral innovation partnerships between Nepal and India

Through strategic partnerships with leading institutions, including technical collaboration with IITM Pravartak and support from the Embassy of India in Kathmandu, the IN-SPAN CoE is committed to building a self-sustaining, founder-driven innovation ecosystem in Nepal. By connecting ideas, people, and institutions, we aim to empower the next generation of entrepreneurs to build scalable ventures and create lasting economic impact.

🤝 A big milestone for Nepal’s startup ecosystem (Mission 2027-28)

We’re excited to share that IN-SPAN Center of Excellence has signed an official Agreement with ‍IITM Pravartak Technologies Foundation, of Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, to establish and operationalize the IN-SPAN Incubation Centre in Kathmandu, Nepal.

This partnership brings together IIT Madras’ incubation expertise and mentorship network with IN-SPAN’s mission of strengthening Nepal’s startup and innovation ecosystem - connecting founders, investors, academic institutions, and industry leaders.

The MoU was signed on 31 July 2026 in Chennai by Dr. M. J. Shankar Raman , CEO of IITM Pravartak Technologies Foundation, and Mr. Asim Shrestha, President of India Nepal Startup Partnership Network (IN-SPAN) Center of Excellence in presence of First Secretary, Commerce Mr. Suman Shekhar, Embassy of India, Kathmandu, Mr. Rajendra Mootha, Head of New Initiatives, IITM Pravartak and Ms. Dilisha Shrestha, Committee Member, IN-SPAN.

We’re grateful for this collaboration and excited about what it means for Nepal’s founders and early-stage innovators in the days ahead.

Celebrating the Successful Completion of IN-SPAN Cohort 2

A journey that brought together 25 ambitious startups from Nepal has reached an important milestone.

On 31 July 2026, we celebrated the Valedictory Ceremony of the Second Cohort of the India–Nepal Startup Partnership Network (IN-SPAN) at IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation, Chennai.

The eight-week, fully funded programme was organized by the Embassy of India, Kathmandu, in collaboration with IITMPravartak, providing Nepali founders with valuable exposure to India’s dynamic startup, technology and innovation ecosystem.

Throughout the programme, the founders engaged with IIT Madras faculty, startup leaders and industry experts, while gaining opportunities for learning, mentorship, networking and exploring potential avenues for collaboration.

The successful completion of Cohort 2 reflects the growing potential of Nepal’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and the importance of strengthening India–Nepal collaboration in innovation, entrepreneurship and technology.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the Embassy of India, Kathmandu, and IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation for their continued support in creating opportunities for Nepali entrepreneurs and strengthening connections between the two countries’ startup ecosystems.

On July 31, 2026, India Nepal Startup Partnership Network (IN-SPAN) Center of Excellence successfully hosted the inaugural Beyond Boundaries | Townhall Meeting at the Embassy of India, Kathmandu, co-organized with the (AIDIAASIA) Asian Institute of Diplomacy and International Affairs -AIDIA.

The inaugural session brought together entrepreneurs, investors, innovators, business leaders, and ecosystem enablers for an engaging conversation on what it takes to build globally competitive companies from Nepal.

We were honored to welcome Mr. Guruprasad Mudlapur, President of Bosch Group in India and Managing Director of Bosch Limited, who shared valuable insights on “From Startup to Scale-up: Building World-Class Companies.”

The discussion highlighted the importance of innovation, strong leadership, long-term thinking, and the ambition to create businesses from Nepal that can compete and create impact on a global scale.
