Campaign for Rights Network "TO ENSURE THE RIGHTS OF GIRLS AND WOMEN INVOLVED IN THE ENTERTAINMENT SECTOR."

“Campaign “Campaign for Rights” Rights” is a network of 16 organizations, established on 5th June 2012. Its aim is to lobby the government of Nepal to ensure the rights of women and girls involved in the entertainment sector. Background:
In Kathmandu alone, more than 40,000 girls and women are working in the entertainment sector. Venues involved in this sector are dance bars, cabin restaurants, m

assage parlors and Doharis. The working conditions in the entertainment industry are often compared to slavery-like situations, no minimum salary scale, specific working hours or leave; harassments through customers, owners, police and the society etc. Therefore, several organizations decided to form a network, concentrating their power and energy to help female entertainment workers and to advocate their rights more effectively.
