Driving Policy, Leading Change !

As the apex umbrella organization for youth NGOs in Nepal, the National Federation of Youth NGOs Nepal (NFYN) is proud to have attended the one-day seminar launching the Scouts, Peace and Security (SPS) project. This meaningful initiative, under the milestone Finland_Nepal Partnership, was organized by Nepal Scouts at the International Scouts Center, Kakani on June 26, 2026. Recognizing the massive potential of this movement, NFYN has formally extended its collaborative hands in every possible way to support, scale, and collaborate on the SPS project.

The energy in the room was incredible-young scouts, facilitators, and partners all united by one belief: that peace isn't just the absence of conflict; it's something we actively build, every day, in our communities. The insightful panel discussions also shed light on the greater goals achieved by Nepal Scouts throughout its historic 75-year journey. This event served as a powerful reminder that Scouting is far more than outdoor skills and badges; it's a global movement shaping future peacemakers, community leaders, and advocates for human security right here in Nepal.

Bringing NFYN's organizational strength and policy expertise to the forefront, our General Secretary Mr. Pramod Neupane contributed vital insights and strategic ideas during the session. As an umbrella network and key policy contributor in the youth sector, NFYN actively analyzed avenues to integrate grassroots youth energy into national security and peacebuilding frameworks, ensuring our collective voice shapes the future of human security.

Air quality in the Kathmandu Valley is no longer just an environmental concern — it is a public health emergency, an economic burden, and a governance challenge. NFYN was proud to participate in the Stakeholder Consultation Workshop on the Kathmandu Valley Air Pollution Management Framework, convened by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forest and Environment (MoAFE) on 25th May 2026.

The one-day consultation brought together government agencies, civil society organisations, the private sector, and technical experts to deliberate on a coordinated, evidence-based framework for managing Kathmandu's persistent air pollution crisis — one of the most pressing urban environmental issues facing Nepal today.

As a civil society voice in this process, NFYN engaged on key dimensions of the framework — from source apportionment and monitoring infrastructure to policy coherence across transport, energy, waste, and land-use sectors. We believe that durable solutions to air pollution require multi-stakeholder ownership, and that civil society must remain a consistent and informed participant in these policy conversations.

Bridging Policy and Action for Cleaner Air in the Kathmandu Valley!

On March 23,2026, the National Federation of Youth NGO Nepal (NFYN) actively participated in the crucial sharing program of the Kathmandu Valley Air Quality (AQI) Action Plan Draft, held in Kathmandu. As part of our continuous commitment to environmental advocacy and policy intervention, NFYN contributed vital insights, grassroots ideas, and strategic recommendations for robust AQI policymaking directly to the Department of Environment under the Ministry of Forests and Environment.

During the session, our Technical Advisor, Mr. Kishor Rijal, put forward key remarks emphasizing the urgency of sustainable solutions, the importance of reliable monitoring data, and the need for inclusive implementation strategies. NFYN Board Member Mr. Sachin Singh, along with our representatives, championing the collective voice of youth working towards urban resilience and environmental safety.

Clean air is a fundamental right, and NFYN remains dedicated to collaborating with government bodies and technical experts to turn these vital action plans into reality.
