The mission of Grandmother Foundation is to promote volunteerism for grandmothers and to enrich their lives showing gratitude towards them through small acts of kindnesses. We are a foundation dedicated for the grandmothers of the world and also supports innovative social initiatives of an individual/organization by providing mentorship and granting seed money for their pr
ojects. Grandmothers hold an unconditional love for their grandchildren that one cannot find in any textbook. It will take ages for individuals to learn such things. During their old age, people suffer from depression in absence of someone to talk to and to share their feelings with. All we want is tranquillity and happiness by showing gratitude through simple act of kindness towards them. This gratitude can be for example- taking their pictures and giving them a photo frame along with their smiley picture or just painting their room walls with different arts, taking them to a picnic or religious tour, teaching them light exercises etc. which doesn't really incur much cost-time at all. Our small acts of kindness can bring joy in their lives. The objective of the foundation is to serve as a voice for grandmothers and enrich their lives with hopes and smiles through volunteerism and tiny projects. The foundation provides an opportunity for locals/internationals for volunteerism and provides information and resources and referrals to those who need assistance while designing /implementing projects for the elderly. The smiles, the laughter and love of our local/international volunteers are like the rewards for the grandmothers who unconditionally share love and affection for all. Our Goals Are:
-Enhance volunteerism for elderly.
-Raise awareness among family members to enrich the lives of grandmothers.
-Initiate advocacy action to improve the care and supervision of the elderly.
-Advocate with other like- minded stakeholders for the rights of elderly at the policy, programme and community level.
-Train and provide tools, resources and leadership to other volunteer/advocacy leaders and groups.
-Raise funds to help support selected grass roots initiatives or advocacy organizations assisting the elderly. Funding:
Most of the funding comes from the promoters of this foundation itself. Besides, our wishes/events/projects for grandmothers are made possible through individual and corporate donations, memorials, equipment donations, a foundation grant, birthday celebrations etc. "We make a living by what we get but we make a life by what we give." ~Winston Churchill
