Established in 1990, ENPHO is a service-oriented, scientific, national non-governmental organization that is contributing to sustainable community development by combining research, action and support in the areas of environment and public health. Having completed 25 years of successful service, ENPHO continually promotes integrated community based approaches for safe water, sustainable sanitation, solid waste management, hygiene behavior, improving indoor air quality, and environmental and air quality monitoring for creating healthy and environment friendly societies. Mission: Develop, demonstrate and disseminate appropriate technologies to enable societies to become healthy and environment friendly. Goal: To support environmental study, sustainable total sanitation, hygiene practices and safe drinking water, contributing for the achievement of the national target.

Happening Now | WASH Volunteer Training & Preparedness Workshop

We are getting our WASH Volunteers ready for effective flood emergency response!

Environment & Public Health Organization (ENPHO), in collaboration with Paschim Paaila and Nepal Rising Daayitwa US, kicked off a two-day WASH Volunteer Training & Preparedness Workshop today, 3 September 2026, for the first batch at the ENPHO Hall in Kathmandu.

The workshop brings together 26 WASH volunteers to strengthen their knowledge, practical skills, and preparedness for supporting Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) response during flood emergencies.

Over two days, participants will engage in practical learning and preparedness activities to build a stronger, more effective volunteer response for flood-affected communities.

बाढीपछि पानी हेर्दा सफा देखिए पनि त्यसमा रोग फैलाउने कीटाणु हुन सक्छन्। त्यसैले खानेपानीलाई शुद्धीकरण गरेर मात्र प्रयोग गर्नुहोस्। 💧

पियूष प्रयोग गर्दा:

१ लिटर पानीमा ३ थोपा पियूष हाल्नुहोस्, राम्रोसँग घोल्नुहोस्, भाँडाको बिर्को बन्द गर्नुहोस् र ३० मिनेटपछि मात्र पानी पिउनुहोस्।

पानीजन्य रोगबाट बच्न:

* शुद्धीकरण गरेको वा उमालेको पानी मात्र पिउनुहोस्।

* पिउने पानी सफा र ढक्कन भएको भाँडामा राख्नुहोस्।

* खाना बनाउनु अघि, खाना खानुअघि र दिसापिसाब गरेपछि साबुनपानीले हात धुनुहोस्।

* खुला ठाउँ तथा खानेपानीको स्रोत नजिक दिसापिसाब नगर्नुहोस्।

पानी शुद्धीकरण गरौँ, सुरक्षित पानी पिऔँ र आफ्नो परिवार तथा समुदायलाई पानीजन्य रोगबाट बचाऔँ।

Our thoughts and solidarity are with everyone affected by the devastating floods in Nepal. We extend our deepest condolences to those who have lost loved ones.
ENPHO stands ready to support emergency WASH and humanitarian response through rapid mobilization of our teams, Paschim Paaila youth volunteers, essential WASH supplies, and PIYUSH (0.5% chlorine solution).
We remain committed to working closely with government, WASH partners, and communities to provide timely and coordinated support where it is most needed.
