The WWF-GEF supported Integrated Landscape Management to Secure Nepal’s Protected Areas and Critical Corridors (ILaM) Project has a geographic scope spanning the whole of the Terai Arc Landscape (TAL) in Nepal. The project will result in a reduction in the threats altering the biological corridors and Protected Areas (PA) buffer zones in the TAL, enhancing the ecological integrity of these substan

tially forested areas, the globally significant wildlife populations, and the resilience of forest dwelling communities. The improved conservation and sustainable management of forest resources will result in increased carbon storage, sequestration and restoration of degraded habitats and continued delivery of ecosystem services that support local population.

Restoration isn't just about planting trees, it's community forest user groups, Indigenous communities, and local people leading the work on the ground. From managing grazing to removing invasive species to responding to Human-Wildlife Conflict, this is what integrated conservation looks like in action.

Through the ILaM Project's Eco-Club initiative, students across schools in the Kamdi Corridor, Banke are actively engaged in environmental conservation from waste segregation and tree plantation to conservation murals and cycling to school encouraging positive environmental habits at the household and community level.
