Introduction:-
Disabled Rehabilitation Center, Nepal was established in 2002 as a nonprofit and
non government organization (NGO). DRC Nepal is registered with the Chief District Office of Government of Kathmandu Register No.13543 and affiliated with the Social Welfare Council under the ministry of Social Welfare. Many of the founding members were people who had a physical disability themselves. V
ission (Future Goals of DRC,Nepal):-
The vision of this organization is to improve the live hood of a person with the disabilities, extremely poor, helpless of the society through appropriate social welfare activities. Target Groups:-
DRC, Nepal works for the welfare of person with disabilities and all the disadvantaged groups include women and other vulnerable individuals and their dependents to foster a better socio economic status and recognition of human rights. Objectives:-
The main objectives of DRC, Nepal is to providing residential facilities with education, health treatment in a family like an environment. Also to rehabilitate person with disabilities and backward from the society. The specific objectives are as follows.
1) To create self-reliance among disabled orphans singles women through promotion of self-employment.
2) To create the public awareness.
3) To prevent social stigma against disabilities protect the rights of the person with disabilities sector DRC, Nepal through information and education.

5) The Disabled Rehabilitation Center, Nepal, Provides residential facilities in a family like environment for 55 children at their Care House in Gokarna-4, Kathmandu and provides non residential facilities for 45 children also. 15 disabled scholars studying at 10+2 level stay outside the DRC facility or with their own families. Similarly around 350 disabled have benefited for orthopedic others through arrangements contacts and Finance of the DRC. In the last two years of skill development efforts, 30 disabled persons have successfully completed 6 months sewing & cutting/ dress making training and another 10 has received computer training. Many of those who have been helped by DRC are now doing small business on their own.
6) Education:-
With aim to make our kid’s future bright the organization sending them in a different good quality English medium Schools. As much as possible DRC always trying best to provide Quality Education to our children. Topic health:-
We are always concerned regarding the health of the children in our care. We are providing everyday 2 hours of physiotherapy in the morning. We held the annual dental camp with the support of Buddhi Bangara Project and we also hold health camps every 4 to 5 months for our children with the help of different health institutions. If any other health problems occur or any emergency then we take the children to the nearest medical facility. The hospital is very close to the DRC Care House, providing easy access in times of emergency. Fundraising :-
The organization raises funds through general and life membership fees and donations also charity from well wisher and friends in Nepal. The Treasurer Tendy Sherpa manages a group of 36 friends who supply rice for the Care House. A group of volunteer members organize regular door to door collections in Kathmandu, Collection funds and raising community awareness of the needs of the DRC. Kindhearted people and organization regularly bring food and clothing for the children. DRC does not receive large financial assistant from any local or International Organizations. They do receive publicity within Nepal through newspapers, TV and radio. The ongoing support of present and past volunteers, DRC is now receiving much needed international support. Similarly DRC has Established International Volunteers program and also receives international volunteers through the Hope and Home Volunteer Organization. The children benefit from the teaching and assistance the volunteers provide and many of these dedicated people continue to fundraise for DRC when they return to their own countries. You can help the DRC,Nepal by:-
Providing clothes, toys, books, stationary Foods Materials and other daily needs. Becoming a General and Life member. Sponsoring a child’s school fees, uniform, textbooks and others. Volunteer service, either by staying at DRC for a period of time or if you live locally, coming to DRC on a regular basis to help
With the things such as homework, cooking, laundry etc. Free services of your profession( medical, dental, teaching etc.) Financial assistance or donations for school expenses, food, medicines, orthopedic equipment, computer equipment. (Future Goals of DRC,Nepal):-
