A team of human rights activists, who have worked together in the sector of human rights, equity and social justice for about a decade as a loose group, later formalized the group by registering it as Terai Human Rights Defenders Alliance (THRDA) in 2011. Since its establishment, the THRDA has been working on the issues of serious human rights violations including torture, extrajudicial ex*****on,

illegal arrest/detention, citizenship, inclusion and discrimination in Terai, southern plains of Nepal.
