15th Annual General Meeting of Khumjung School Alumni Association
The 15th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Khumjung School Alumni Association (KSAA) was successfully held on April 4, 2026, at Ohana Café, Tusal. The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of life members, general members, distinguished guests, and representatives from esteemed organizations including Himalayan Trust Nepal, Mahendra Jyoti Ex-Student Forum, Nepal Mountaineering Association, former principals, and alumni of Khumjung Secondary School.
Key Highlights of the AGM:
🏅 Felicitations & Honors
1. Mr. Ang Tshering Sherpa
Chairman of Asian Trekking, Advisor, and Life Member of KSAA, was felicitated for being honored with the Madan Bhandari National Award.
2. Guru Mahendra Kathet
Recognized for his remarkable 33 years of dedicated service to education. He was awarded a cash prize of NPR 50,000 along with best wishes for a happy and fulfilling retired life.
3. Mr. Pasang Dawa Sherpa
Life member of KSAA Mr. Sherpa felicitated for his reappointment as Chairman of Himalayan Trust Nepal.
4. Mr. Phurba Gyaljen Sherpa
Chairman of Mahendra Jyoti Ex-Student Forum and Life Member of KSAA, honored for being elected as Chairman of the Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA).
5. Mr. Pasang Dawa Sherpa
Former President and Life Member of KSAA, recognized for his over 20 years of dedicated scholarship support to students of Khumjung Secondary School.
🎓 Student Awards
Four outstanding students from Khumjung Secondary School were awarded the Shyam Krishna Pradhan Memorial Award (NPR 10,000 each):
1. Ms. Fura Doma Sherpa – SEE Batch 2022
2. Mr. Bikesh Kukung Rai – SEE Batch 2023
3. Mr. Khamsu Ongdu Sherpa – SEE Batch 2024
4. Ms. Tshering Ngima Sherpa – SEE Batch 2025
🕊️ Tribute
A heartfelt tribute was paid to the Late Mr. Nima Tashi Sherpa, former Vice-President and Life Member of KSAA, in recognition of his invaluable contributions to the organization and the community.
💬 Discussion Session
For the first time, the AGM featured an interactive session titled:
“Listening to Young Perspectives on Education”, creating a platform for meaningful dialogue and fresh insights from the younger generation.

The President presented tokens of appreciation to the following contributors to the discussion session:

Mr. Shambu Bastola, Former Principal, was specially honored for his continued and dedicated service to education in the Khumbu region.
📊 AGM Resolution
The AGM formally approved the Fiscal Year 2081/82 Audit Report.
