n the blink of an eye.

Soon, Bal Mandir and many other children's homes are going to be flooded with more children than they can handle. I know this because I lived it while growing up in Bal Mandir. As we know, a flash flood doesn’t change a river's course—it sweeps everything in its path in a matter of moments. It carried me straight to Bal Mandir, separating me from my family. That sudden force changed my city, my home, and the people I called "mine" overnight. I grew up there, finished school there, and witnessed firsthand how a single disaster alters the course of human lives instantly.

Today, the waters have hit Nepal again—not with that same speed, but with a larger, more terrifying force that is making people across the planet pause and think. Because of this, the Winter Project is being forced to change its track just as suddenly.

For over a decade, we have worked on a small, almost invisible scale. But we cannot wait for winter when the crisis is happening right now. We do not need to work through government bureaucracy. Our independent network connects us directly to 585 children’s homes across Nepal. We already know which of the top ten homes will be overwhelmed first. When the flood moves fast, we need to move faster.

How you can fund this sudden shift in our work: 50% of all sales from my eBook, I Am Not Alone, for the next 3 months will go directly into the Winter Project fund. My book tells the stories of children affected by unavoidable events, and how those moments change the entire course of their lives, just like mine did. Yesterday we visited a home in Panchkhal Bal Mandir. Once it was a home of 400 children but now it has converted into a disabled home. Now there are only 11 people here plus 3 staff to take care them. All of them once was a children in various children homes under the umbrella of Bal Mandir. These people are some physically and some mentally disabled. These people can not survive without the support of others.

New Hope Children's home is in Rampur, Palpa which takes care of 25 children. This children home is hillside and colder than here in Kathmandu. The distribution coordinator shared with us that how happy staff and children were to receive some warm cloths when the weather is so harsh during this cold time.

PS : Thank you all the supporters who helped our project to send warm clothes, books and sweets to these children.

Hope Children home is also located in Rasuwa. Reaching out children homes out of Kathmandu valley where climate is colder than here has always been a challenge as well as opportunity for us. We are glad that we managed to sent warmers before weather gets colder.
