The BAC is under the spiritual guidence of H.E.Tulku Losang Namgyal Rinpoche and follows the vision of the Rinpoche’s in promoting Buddha’s teaching throughout Nepal. u Losang Namgyal Rinpoche:
Tulku Losang Namgyal Rinpoche was born in 1970 in Morea, Okhaldhunga, Nepal. In his previous life he was abbot of the old Tamang Monastery Trust at Swayambhu. He was known then as Maila Kaji Tamang. In 1976 he was recognized as the reincarnation of the previous abbot of the Swayambhu Tamang Gompa by H. the 16th Gyalwa Karmapa. He then spent four years in the Maitrye Gompa in Swayambhu. Later, in 1980, he moved to Kopan Monastery for further study. He took full ordination from H. the 14th Dalai Lama in 2003. Losang Namgyal Rinpoche was officially recognized by H. the 14th Dalai Lama as the reincarnation of Lama Maila Kagi on 5th August, 2010.He was then enthroned in a traditional ceremony by Kyabje Khenrinpoche Lama Lhundrup Rigsel, on 18th August, 2010 at Kopan Monastery, Kathmandu. This was according to the wishes of H. the 14th Dalai Lama and Kyabje Lama Thubten Zopa Rinpoche. He is the patron and founder of the Namgyal Rinpoche Foundation Nepal( NR Foundation) which was set up to promote Buddhist awareness and improve the social and spiritual outcomes for Nepal. In 1998 he established the Buddhist Awareness Center and the Namgyal Jyangchyub Choeling Monastery. He is also abbot of the Chhorten Tashi Tamang Monastery, Jorpati, Kathmandu.
