Stories of Survival from the Transgender Community.

During our visit to Bara, Conscious Connection Nepal conducted makeup training for the transgender community. More than learning makeup skills, the training was about building confidence, creating employment opportunities, and reminding every participant that they deserve to live with dignity and respect.

As we spent time together, we also listened.

We heard stories of survival in the transgender community, stories of rejection, violence, discrimination, and the daily struggle to provide for their families. Stories of people who continue to persevere despite having limited opportunities and facing stigma every day💕 Special thanks to for capturing the beautiful moments in Bara. Gratitude to our Make up trainer for always supporting the 🏳️‍⚧️ community.

Every story matters. Every person deserves dignity, respect, and the opportunity to thrive🏳️‍⚧️

We organized a 10-day makeup training for trans women in Pokhara, Kaski. More than learning makeup techniques, the training was designed to build confidence, promote dignity, and create pathways to sustainable livelihoods and economic independence.

In this video, Roji Pariyar shares her journey, the challenges she has faced, and the impact this training has had on her life.

Together with our implementing partner, Drokpo Nepal, we conducted Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) and reusable pad-making training across 5 wards, 10 villages, and a nunnery in Upper Mustang, reaching more than 250 participants.

Bringing together Female Community Health Volunteers (FCHVs), mothers' groups, local leaders, and community members, the training created a space to learn, share experiences, and strengthen awareness around menstrual health. More importantly, it supported local leadership, encouraged community participation, and equipped participants with practical knowledge and skills that can be shared within their own communities.

Our heartfelt thanks to Drokpo Nepal, every participant, and the communities who welcomed us and made this initiative possible. We remain committed to working together toward a future where menstrual health is understood, accessible, and free from stigma.

Breaking the silence. Challenging the stigma.✨

UNBOUND: Freedom & Expression brought together young people, artists, advocates, and community members to talk, share, and reflect on menstruation, dignity, and equality. Through photography, storytelling, and open dialogue, we created a space where menstruation could be spoken about openly, without shame or fear.

It was a reminder that change begins when we listen to each other and show up as a community.

Together, we continue to advocate for a world where periods are seen as a natural part of life, not a taboo.🙌

A special thank you to for providing the space and helping make this event possible.

Red Moon is a 10 minute film that follows a Loba family in Upper Mustang, capturing the intimate relationship between a mother and her adolescent daughter. The film is anchored by a quiet yet profound parallel, the lunar cycle that shapes the community’s spiritual and agricultural rhythms, and the menstrual cycle that remains largely unspoken within it.

At the heart of the film is a tender conversation between a mother introducing her daughter to menstruation for the first time, and a daughter who has already gathered fragments of understanding from those around her. This exchange unfolds not in a clinic or classroom, but beside a kitchen fire, along a stream, and amidst the everyday routines of cooking and farming. In this landscape, the most meaningful conversations happen quietly, woven into daily life, carried by the wind, and shared between tasks.

This conversation is the film’s only defining event. Everything else, the sweeping landscape, the rhythm of daily labour, the changing phases of the moon, and the red ochre walls of ancient caves, exists to hold and deepen that moment.

Red Moon is a 10-minute film set in Upper Mustang that follows a Loba mother and her adolescent daughter as they navigate a quiet but powerful conversation about menstruation. Mirroring the rhythms of the moon and daily life, the film explores how knowledge is passed down in the spaces between chores, traditions, and silence, revealing the beauty and complexity of stories often left untold.
