The Good Leadership

The Good Leadership The Good Leadership supports youth to maximize their potential for their growth.

It is an initiative of Together for Nepal, Bright Star Society, and ENGAGE, 3 not for profit organizations working in Nepal. The Good Leadership is a new initiative that aims not only at developing new skills and competencies but also at creating new knowledge, new ideas that are at the crossroads between cutting edge leadership practices and insights and innovative public policies. In short, we are a hodgepodge of “different stuff” that are important to support youths to achieve their potential while also contributing to the society. We believe that every single youth has a natural potential and a wealth in strengths that are too often neglected or not fully leveraged. Our Vision

Youth, especially the “underdogs”, are driven to shine and thrive while taking a stand as civic leaders, addressing the most challenging issues of our times. Our Mission

THE GOOD LEADERSHIP: YOU'RE LUCKY, THE YE-GL's APPLICATION GOT EXTENDED.

Is the YE-GL or The Young Enthusiastic Good Leaders too demanding?

Just a little bit, not too much, after all, there are 2 weekly sessions with sessions on Friday from 2pm to 5pm and sessions on Saturday from 11am to 3pm

There will be 15 sessions, well, after all this is a Fellowship, right?

And:

You will get a certificated (!!!) + a recommendation letter

Now our little pitch:

If you are 17-21 or your sons/daughters are 17-21 living in the KTM valley, here some good reasons for them to consider joining the YE-GL:

Reason 1: You will build the foundations on the most important issues of our times, including:

a) climate governance and action,

b) democracy and good governance,

c) international relations, d) ethical AI and

e) disability & inclusion and

f) business and human rights

Reason 2: You will be supported to write an op-ed piece. It will be your craft, The Good Leadership will help you brainstorming (NO AI, please), write it and edit and we will do our best to get it published.

Reason 3: You will lead in the organization of a policy workshop where you will present and sharing what you have learned, where you will test your newly acquired know-how.

Reason 4: It will be demanding and it will help build your accountability "portfolio".

Reason 5: It will be happening in a nice place with a lot of greenery, a pleasant place to learn Mitho Chha, our Hospitality Partner.

Reason 6: Yes it will be an effort but it will be also fun and the sessions will be also set in a relaxing atmosphere

Reason 7: You will take the lead and own the process

Reason 8: it is very cheap, we only ask a commitment fee of 1500 NRS for 15 sessions!

Reason 9: The Leadership component is driven by contents and experienced developed by Good Stuff Coaching Ltd, a boutique training and coaching firm based in Scotland led by Emma Nicol and Steve Nicol, a former business executive, entrepreneur and now executive coach and author of "Have At It: Why Truth Is the Most Practical Choice".

Volunteers made the difference at JUST AI Peer Review of Recommendations for Ethical AI ACT:

Often too much discounted and taken for granted, volunteers play a HUGE role when events are organized.

When last Monday we organized our Peer Review on our draft recommendations for Nepal AI Act, students from Islington College Kathmandu did step UP, BIG TIME!

Thanks to Sadikshya Lamichhane, Suditi Shrestha, Garimaa Pandey

Alson Shrestha, Kiran Dahal, Achhurna Kafle, Om Dangol and Raunak Sharma for helping us, you took care of small things, small details but these "small" things, especially in event management, COUNT A LOT!!!

You played a very important role, maybe boring like welcoming the guests, showing them the way, registering their names, go to get our amazing SOMOSAS etc... you were super available and super nice, really.

It is always good for The Good Leadership and for me personally to interact and meet you!
