๐ŸŒโœจ Looking back at an inspiring and transformative experience at the 10th Nepalese Youth Conference on Climate Change (NYCCC)!

For three incredible days, young climate leaders from across Nepal came together to learn, connect, and collaborate for a more sustainable future.

๐Ÿ“ Day 1: Setting the Context and Communicating Climate Change
We explored the realities of the climate crisis and the importance of effective climate communication in driving awareness and action.

๐Ÿ“ Day 2: Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs)
Through engaging discussions and interactive sessions, we deepened our understanding of Nepal's climate commitments and the critical role of youth in strengthening climate ambition.

๐Ÿ“ Day 3: Connecting Advocacy to Innovation
We discovered how innovative ideas, local solutions, and collective action can turn climate commitments into meaningful impact on the ground.

Beyond the sessions and presentations, one of the most meaningful aspects of NYCCC was connecting with passionate changemakers from across the country who share a common commitment to climate action. Sharing experiences, exchanging ideas, and building friendships reminded us that climate action is not an individual journey but a collective movement.

We leave the conference with stronger networks, fresh perspectives, practical knowledge, and renewed determination to create positive change in our communities.

A heartfelt thank you to Nepalese Youth for Climate Action (NYCA), the organizing team, facilitators, speakers, and every participant who contributed to making this conference a truly meaningful platform for learning, collaboration, and youth empowerment.

The conversations may have ended, but the commitment continues. Let's carry this energy forward and work together for a greener, more resilient, and climate-just Nepal. ๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ต

Article 18

Letโ€™s read an insightful article written by Outreach Coordinator of NYCA Jhapa Mr. Maneesh Bhushal on the topic: โ€œCircular Economy: A Major Solution for Integrated Solid Waste Management.โ€ โ™ป๏ธ๐ŸŒ

The article explores how the circular economy can address Nepalโ€™s growing solid waste challenges by promoting waste reduction, source segregation, recycling, composting, and resource recovery. It highlights the environmental and public health impacts of unmanaged waste, including methane emissions, air pollution, and ecosystem degradation. ๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿ™๏ธ

Moving away from the traditional โ€œtake-make-disposeโ€ model and embracing circular economy principles can transform waste into valuable resources, create green opportunities, reduce pollution, and strengthen climate resilience. A collective effort from citizens, local governments, businesses, and institutions is essential to build a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable Nepal. ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ตโœจ

Tuesday Story ๐ŸŒพ

For 38 years, a farmer from Chitwan chose patience over chemicals.

While many moved toward fertilisers and fast production, he believed healthy soil creates healthy food and healthier lives. He continued organic farming with one simple belief: โ€œChemical-free soil is the foundation of prosperity.โ€

Today, his story reminds us that sustainable agriculture is not backward, it is the future.

As dependence on imported fertilisers and seeds grows, Nepalโ€™s food security and farming independence matter more than ever. Protecting local seeds, restoring soil health, and supporting organic farming are climate actions too.

Article: 17

Letโ€™s read an insightful article written by Network Coordinator of NYCA Jhapa Ms. Asmita Aryal from Gauradaha Agriculture Campus on the topic: โ€œNeglected and Underutilized Species of Nepal.โ€ ๐ŸŒพ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ต

The article highlights how traditional crops like millet, buckwheat, barley, yam, and indigenous beans can strengthen food security, nutrition, biodiversity, and climate resilience in Nepal. ๐ŸŒฑโœจ

Reviving and promoting these forgotten crops can help Nepal build a stronger, more sustainable, and diversified food system while preserving our rich agricultural heritage. Greater focus on research, conservation, commercialization, and awareness of NUS crops is essential for a resilient agricultural future. ๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒพ
