🌏 7th UNI APRO Commerce Conference 2025

The 7th UNI Asia Pacific Regional Organization (APRO) Commerce Conference successfully concluded in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, under the theme — “Rising Together for Justice as Essential Workers.”
The two-day conference brought together trade union leaders, worker representatives, and labor advocates from across the Asia-Pacific region to discuss challenges, share experiences, and strengthen solidarity within the commerce sector.
The sessions highlighted the importance of fair wages, decent working conditions, social protection, and respect for all commerce workers. Discussions focused on building stronger organizing strategies, ensuring safe workplaces, and promoting equality and justice for essential workers hin the changing global economy.
Key addresses were delivered by Mr. Gerard Dwyer, President of UNI APRO Commerce Sector; Datuk Mohamed Shafie BP Mammal, President of UNI-MLC Malaysia; Mr. Rajendra Acharya, Regional Secretary of UNI APRO; and other distinguished leaders and representatives from member countries.
The conference concluded with the adoption of the “Workers Rising Together” Action Plan and the election of the new UNI APRO Commerce Sector Committee, reaffirming a collective commitment to workers’ rights and unity across the region.
