🌿 Birding in Dhanusha shows how our farmlands are important for biodiversity. These fields provide food, shelter, and nesting places for many bird species, including migratory birds. The harmony between farming and nature helps maintain a healthy ecosystem. By protecting farmlands, we are also conserving birds and their habitats. Let’s value and protect these landscapes for a sustainable future. 🐦🌾

Rescue of Three Adult Spectacled Cobras from Illegal Snake Handling Activity

Three adult Spectacled Cobras were successfully rescued from a snake charmer who had been publicly displaying and handling the snakes at Kishanpur Village, Ward No. 7 of Dhanushadham Municipality.

The incident came to our attention through local villagers, who informed us about the presence of the snake charmer and the snakes. Upon receiving the information, our team immediately coordinated with the Divisional Forest Office. We informed Mr. Shankar Narayan Jha, Divisional Forest Officer at the Dhanushadham Sub-Divisional Forest Office, Dhanusha.

Following this, Mr. Akash Yadav, Forest Guard, arrived at the site, and a joint rescue operation was conducted by our team along with the forest officials. Through coordinated efforts, we successfully rescued all three cobras from the snake charmer.

After the rescue, proper handling procedures were followed, including health assessment, documentation, and necessary legal processes. Once all required checks were completed, the snakes were safely released into their natural habitat within the Dhanushadham Forest.

This operation highlights the importance of community awareness, prompt reporting, and collaboration between local conservation teams and forest authorities in protecting wildlife and preventing illegal exploitation.

Happy World Frog Day! 🐸🌿

On the occasion of World Frog Day, we are sharing this short video of a toad croaking that we recorded yesterday. These small and often overlooked creatures play a very important role in maintaining a healthy ecosystem by controlling insect populations and indicating environmental health.

Let’s protect frogs and toads and keep our wetlands and environment safe for them.
