Disaster Aid Nepal and the Rotary Club of Gongabu have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on the Early Recovery and Reconstruction Program following the 2026 Bhotekoshi Flood in Nepal.

The MoU was signed by Ranjeev Shrestha, President of Disaster Aid Nepal, and Binod Karki, President of the Rotary Club of Gongabu.

This partnership reflects our shared commitment to helping flood-affected communities move beyond emergency relief toward sustainable recovery. Together, we will work to restore safe water, sanitation, shelter, community infrastructure, and other essential services that support resilient rebuilding.

We sincerely appreciate the Rotary Club of Gongabu for joining hands with Disaster Aid Nepal in this important humanitarian initiative. Together, we can rebuild stronger, safer, and more resilient communities.

Successfully handed over 100 sets of essential kitchen utensils to 100 disaster-affected families. Each set included a cooking stove with regulator, pressure cooker, plates, cups, and other necessary household kitchen items.

This support was made possible through the generous collaboration of Rotary District 3292, Matrika Eye Centre, and Rotary Club of Himalayan Golfers.

Disaster Aid Nepal is honored to be part of this meaningful initiative, supporting affected communities during their recovery journey and helping families rebuild their daily lives with dignity.

The situation on the ground is changing rapidly. After several coordination meetings with municipalities, the District Water & Sanitation Office, the District Health Office, and local stakeholders, and following our recent field visits, it is clear that the priority is now shifting from emergency relief to early recovery.

In many accessible areas, families have already received food, tents, mattresses, and kitchenware multiple times, while a few road-cut communities still need targeted support. Many people are also leaving the holding centres as the government and local authorities arrange temporary shelters and rental assistance.

The greatest needs now are safe water, sanitation, public health, debris-cleaning tools to recover belongings, and support for the most vulnerable communities.

Disaster Aid Nepal will continue to coordinate closely with government agencies and local partners to ensure that assistance is based on actual needs, avoids duplication, and supports a sustainable recovery.

As search and rescue operations continue in the aftermath of the Nepal Disaster 2026, Disaster Aid Nepal, in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Kathmandu Circle, Rotary Club of Dhulikhel Shikhalapur, Aquabox Foundation, Rotary Club of Rotenburg, and Rotary International District 3292 (Nepal–Bhutan), handed over essential emergency response equipment to the Armed Police Force (APF) Nepal.

The emergency equipment was formally handed over at the Armed Police Force Headquarters by Rotary International Director Bashu Dev Golyan and Rotary District 3292 Governor Vishnu Karki. The Armed Police Force has been a long-standing partner of Disaster Aid Nepal in disaster preparedness, emergency response, and humanitarian operations across Nepal.

According to the latest Government of Nepal data, more than 4,000 people remain missing, while an estimated 2.2 million tonnes of debris still need to be cleared. The scale of the disaster continues to challenge rescue and recovery efforts, making well-equipped frontline responders more important than ever.

Disaster Aid Nepal sincerely thanks the Rotary Club of Bhadgaon, Rotary Club of Dhulikhel Shikhalapur, Rotary Club of Kathmandu Circle, and Aquabox Foundation for their valuable collaboration in providing 110 Aqua Filters and 110 water buckets to communities affected by the recent disaster.

In the aftermath of the disaster, access to safe drinking water has become a critical emergency. Due to contaminated water sources, cholera outbreaks have already started in temporary holding shelters, putting displaced families—especially children, elderly people, and vulnerable groups—at severe risk.

This timely support is not just about providing water filters; it is about protecting lives, preventing disease, and restoring hope. Disaster Aid Nepal, together with its partners, remains committed to reaching affected communities with essential WASH support during this critical time.

Standing with Timure: Hope in the Midst of Tragedy

Today we collaborated with Rotary Club of Kathmandu Circle, Rotary Club of Dhulikhel Shikhalapur, Rotary Club of Mount Everest, and Rotaract Club of K**S , joined hands to deliver essential humanitarian relief to Mustang Gumba, which is currently serving as a temporary holding center for approximately 250 displaced people from Timure Village (Gosaikunda Rural Municipality–2) and surrounding communities.

The tragedy unfolding in Timure is heartbreaking. Out of nearly 300 residents, 210 people are still reported missing. Families continue to wait with fear, uncertainty, and hope, praying for news of their loved ones. Our hearts are with every family affected by this devastating disaster.

To help restore dignity and meet immediate needs, we provided essential relief supplies, including:

* Hygiene and menstrual supplies
* Baby food, diapers, baby bottles, and clothing
* Aqua Boxes for safe drinking water
* Food items and glucose
* Kitchen utensils and household essentials
* Clothing, slippers, and undergarments
* Buckets, jugs, soaps, toothpaste, toothbrushes, LED lights, face masks, medical gloves, and other emergency relief materials

While these supplies cannot erase the pain of loss, they are a reminder that the survivors are not alone. Together, we stand beside them during this difficult journey.

We also express our heartfelt appreciation to Batch-2033, Kanya Mandir High School, Nhyokha, Kathmandu, and the generous people of Dhulikhel for their thoughtful in-kind donations. Your compassion and solidarity have brought hope and comfort to families facing unimaginable hardship.

Our thoughts and prayers remain with the people of Timure and with every family still waiting for their loved ones.

Disaster Aid Nepal, in collaboration with the District Coordination Office, Kavre, has provided 100 Aqua Filters, 100 buckets, and 100 mugs to flood-affected communities in Nuwakot District.

With the risk of cholera and waterborne diseases, access to safe drinking water is critical. This support will help families protect their health and wellbeing during this challenging time.

According to the latest NDRRMA figures:

🔴 7,037 injured
🔴 5,428 people missing

Displaced and affected families urgently need safe drinking water, hygiene supplies, food, shelter, medical assistance, and early recovery support.
