(PVP), Nepal is an organization
with a group of workers who
think together, and are wedded
together to a common ideal and
goal. It is the only organization of its kind with coherent and
determined workers
committed for the cause of the
motherland, Nepal. We constitute an organization
of the students and academic
ians of Nepal, who are
on the way of the development
of the country. 'Service of
mankind through the
development of Nepal is the
motto of the Pragyik Vidyarthi Parishad, Nepal. Founded in B.S. 2052 on 24
Mangsir and formally registered
in the D.A.O., Kathmandu, Nepal
in B.S. 2054 on 18 Baisakh, it is a
national level students' organization working in the
field of education with a wide
perspective of National
Reconstruction. Pragyik Vidyarthi Parishad, Nepal works
with a faith in the collective
existence of the educational
community, a firm belief in
constructive work, and a
nationalist approach, which stays above partisan politics. It
is affiliated to the World
Organization of Students and
Youth (WOSY). When one looks into the
history of the development of our country, he/she is sure to
find many ups and downs. Time
has created certain challenges
and put them face to face with
the developmental path of the
nation. The internal malice inherent in our society on one
hand and the external
aggression on the other have
pushed the dynamic pace of
national development
backward, thereby generating a wide hiatus between the
Nepal of our dream and the
existing reality. A need for
reconstructing and reorganizing
the nation has therefore
become an imperative challenge. We have honestly
accepted this challenge. This
reconstruction and
reorganization of the society
can be ensured only when each
member does his/her bit in his/ her own field. Naturally,
reorganization and
reconstruction of each field
would ultimately result into
national reconstruction and
education catalyzes the process. Therefore, Pragyik Vidyarthi
Parishad, Nepal has chosen the
field of education as its field of
activity. The Parishad has been
gradually spreading its work to
all the places, colleges, and universities. The history of its
growth proves that it is a 'live'
organization with organic
development. The main aim of the Pragyik
Vidyarthi Parishad, Nepal is to inculcate the nationalist,
patriotic and cultural feeling
among the students and youths
for the development of the
nation. The Parishad is dedicated
to uniting student forces of Nepal and also taking the
guidance and help of the
academicians working in the
field of education for the
renaissance and reconstruction
of the nation. We are committed to giving our Nepal,
her due position in the world
community. The Parishad ideology is a living,
breathing organism with a face
in the form of Parishad karyakartas and its
programmes. Our karyakartas
are not passive by-standers in
the society, but agents of social
change. This role is reflected in
their varied constructive programmes and projects such
as reconstruction of educational
field, four-fold development of
students, academic calendar
adherence, national unity,
sovereignty and fraternity. They endeavour to work
together to find new and
creative solution to age-old
social problems and evils
(casteism, untouchability,
dowry etc.) and aim at national integration and social
consciousness to solve the
economic and other problems of
the students and the
encouragement of their hidden
talents with a view to bringing the best out of everyone. Thus
Parishad conducts Book-Bank,
Vachanalaya, Library, Blood
Donation Camp, Directory,
Study Circles, Vocational
Employment Bureau, Personality Development
Camps, Workers Training
Camps, Fellowship Camps, Free
Medical Camps, Free Coaching
Classes, Computer Training
Courses, Career Guidance Programmes, First Class First
Felicitation, Symposiums,
Seminars and Workshops,
Educational Competitions
(Essay, Music, Quiz, G.K.,
Debating etc.), Tours (Educational, SEIL, Goodwill,
Exchange Tours etc.) and also
observes Student's Day and
National Unity Day. The Parishad
is always ready to stand in
favour of issues like social equality, transparency in public
life, value-based education etc. These are the tenets of our
faith, to which we have been
and always will be committed. It is thus, PVP is today, a truly nationalist students
organization with the ideology,
the programmes and the power
to deliver what it promises. The Parishad is of the view that
the students of today is not a citizen of tomorrow but he/
she is very much a citizen of
today. In spite of various socio-
economic stresses and strains it
faces, today, itself, therefore,
this community plays a participatory role in national life
and the revolutionary process
of social change. This class, if
organized through constructive
approach will undertake the
responsibilities of reconstruction and
simultaneously fight and banish
the forces of corruption, and
the activities of anti-social and
anti-national elements. World Organization of Students
and Youth (WOSY) World Organization of Students
and Youth (WOSY), the first
international students and
youths body with its
headquarter in India was
launched in Delhi on 29th October, 1985, on the occasion of
the mammoth International
youth year conference, in the
midst of 11,000 Indian and
foreign student delegates. WOSY is a non-political, non- profit international youths
body that strives to help
humankind in its search for
happiness and fulfillment. When
all materialistic philosophies
have failed or proved to be falling short, a new direction
towards a better life system
has become all the more
necessary. Today the old order
is dead; the new is yet to be
born. WOSY, considering this need, accelerates the process of
search on the basis of unity of
mankind. WOSY involves the
students and youths in the
evolution of a new world
order-political , economic, social, technological etc. Therefore, WOSY envisages
better international
understanding, promotes peace
and co-existence, strives to
bring youth together for social justice and humanity mobilizing
students' opinion against all
sorts of discrimination, and pioneering crusades for the
cause of healthy environment
and ecology, and a justified
thrust for the development of
students and youths. To make
this happen, WOSY inspires the youth for active, healthy
contribution towards the unity
of entire universe based on the
belief that 'the world is one
family'. Towards this motto WOSY organises noble programmes,
seminars, tours, conferences and
many activities for the youth,
by the youth and of the youth
with other associate and
affiliate organizations, Pragyik Vidyarthi Parishad (PVP), Nepal
