Today, Nataliya Yeremeyeva, on behalf of NUAH, took part in the kick-off meeting for a new two-year project «Ukrainian return», supported by HK-dir. We are grateful to be included in this important initiative from the very beginning together with the Institute for Social Research, International Organization for Migration, and Norwegian Organization for Asylum Seekers.
The topic of return is highly relevant, deeply sensitive — and unfortunately often surrounded by speculation. The reality is complex: the number of Ukrainians considering return is constantly changing, the outcomes remain unpredictable, and there are open questions about whether Ukraine is fully ready to receive large-scale returns under current conditions.
That is exactly why this work matters. Thoughtful dialogue, solid research, and cooperation across sectors are essential to ensure that discussions about return are grounded in reality, dignity, and respect for individual choice.
We are happy — and proud — to be part of this project, and we look forward to contributing our perspective, experience, and voice over the next two years.
