Over the last six months, FEIT – Filipino Engineers and I.T. Professionals in Norway has successfully hosted several Data Engineering Fundamentals Seminars, bringing together participants from diverse professional and educational backgrounds who share a common goal: learning the foundations of data engineering and exploring opportunities in the data field.
Through these seminars, we introduce key concepts in data engineering, including data pipelines, databases, data modeling, ETL processes, and the role of data engineers in modern organizations. Participants are also exposed to practical SQL coding concepts using modern data platforms such as dbt and Databricks.
To make the sessions interactive and engaging, participants take part in hands-on SQL exercises, including traditional pen-and-paper coding activities that help strengthen their understanding of query logic, data transformations, and problem-solving techniques.
At FEIT, we believe that knowledge sharing is one of the most powerful ways to empower our community. Seeing professionals and aspiring data practitioners come together to learn, ask questions, and explore new career opportunities in data is both inspiring and rewarding.
