Today we celebrate the incredible professionals who keep our skies safe - the air traffic controllers! 🌍💙

Every day, ATCs around the world guide thousands of flights with precision, calm, and teamwork. Their dedication ensures that aviation remains one of the safest ways to travel. ✈️

We take this day to recognize and encourage more women to join this vital part of the aviation industry. Whether in the tower, the radar room, or training the next generation. 💪👩‍✈️

To all the controllers out there: thank you for keeping the skies moving safely and smoothly. You are the invisible heroes of aviation. 🙌

Today, we celebrate the power, potential, and passion of girls all around the world. At Women in Aviation, we believe that every girl should know that the sky is not the limit - it’s just the beginning. 🌍💙

Aviation has always been about breaking boundaries - and so have women. From engineers and pilots to air traffic controllers and innovators, girls everywhere deserve the opportunity to explore, learn, and fly high.

Let’s continue to inspire the next generation to dream boldly, aim higher, and take their place in the cockpit, the control tower, and beyond. 🚀💪

Committee opportunities including Activities Committee (online and local events in Sweden, Denmark, and Norway), Girls in Aviation Day Committee, Social Media Committee, Membership Committee, and Partnerships/Fundraising Committee. 📢✨ Would you like to volunteer and help us inspire, support, and encourage more girls and women to discover and stay in the aviation and aerospace industry – both professionally and privately – across Scandinavia? ✈️🚀

Or maybe you’d like to help us bring more activities to life, online and/or locally in your area? We currently have openings for both board and committee positions. All genders and ages are warmly welcome – the only requirement is to be a WAI member.

⏱️ The time commitment varies depending on the role – some positions only require occasional involvement, while others are more regular (bi-weekly or weekly). Most tasks are flexible and can easily fit around your other commitments. Whether you have lots of time to give or just a little, there’s likely a role that works for you!

🌟 Examples of open board positions include Treasurer and Partnerships Chair. We are also looking for a Denmark Coordinator (not a board position)!

📆Did you realize that yesterday was Amelia Earhart day? 👩‍✈️ She was born in Kansas on July 24th, 1897. 🎉WAI Scandinavia Chapter board members Dana & Saida celebrated Amelia's work towards advancing the goals of supporting more women getting into aviation by spending the evening with Sweden's Frivilliga Flygkåren Ungdom (youth) summer camp for a presentation and discussion about WAI and gender diversity & equality in the aviation industry. 🌟 There was some great discussion and ideas from these young people, and it makes us excited to see the future of the aviation industry! 👏

Tack så mycket FFK Ungdom for inviting WAI to participate in your summer program again this summer! We always enjoy spending time with your wonderful articipants 🙏🏼
