RCUI is an English-speaking Rotary club in Utrecht. We are a dynamic group of professionals united by a mission to create global impact.

Since 2005, we've championed initiatives that empower communities; guided by our core value of Service Above Self. We aim for equal numbers of women and men;
Small - We have c. 30 members;
Young - half the members are under 40. The youngest member is 20;
Diverse - Our members come from c.18 countries;
We meet every two weeks on a Tuesday evening in Utrecht for a meal followed by a speaker or another presentation. We hold meetings hybrid, it’s possible to attend online as well as at the restaurant. Meetings are very informal and enjoyable. Our website is http://www.rotary-utrecht-international.nl

We spent 'Burendag' at Eemhart Prinses Margrietstraat in Utrecht!

Eemhart is an organization that offers support, guidance and treatment to people with disabilities. Our club is no stranger to Prinses Margrietstraat, as we have been visiting them during NLdoet for a few years now.

New Member Alert!

Our last meeting, on the 22nd of September, was very special! Not only did we have a visitor from Club München-Mitte (Germany), but we also had a new member joining our club ⚙️

After participating in our meetings for a few months now, Saul Gallagher has officially joined RC Utrecht International!

From the 9th to the 13th of September, Rotary members from across Europe and the World came together in Rotterdam for the Rotary European Action Summit

The highlight of the event was the presence of the President of Rotary International , Olayinka Hakeem Babalola, who spoke about Creating Lasting Impact (the Rotary theme for this year) and shared his special focus on peace building and conflict resolution efforts.

Our fellow members and Elisabeth were present at the Summit, representing Rotary Club Utrecht International.

Also present were the members of our sponsored club Interact Club Utrecht International who carried the flags of all the European countries!

At our upcoming Rotary meeting, we are excited to welcome guest speaker Tineke Ruyter to share the powerful story of the GamPads project.

Stitching together dignity and education, this initiative works to end period poverty for schoolgirls in The Gambia. Instead of handing out disposable products, Tineke and her team run hands-on workshops teaching local women and girls how to stitch their own reusable, washable sanitary pads using local fabrics. This simple skill keeps bright young scholars in the classroom all year round.

To fund these programs, Tineke co-organizes a thrilling bi-annual car challenge that drives vehicles from Zwijndrecht directly through the Sahara Desert to Gambia, where they are auctioned off to support the Scholenplan Gambia Foundation.
