African and Caribbean Heritage Network

African and Caribbean Heritage Network ACHN aims to:

1. Connect, give students a voice, a sense of belonging, a community: being able to get together and engage in dialogues,

The African and Caribbean Heritage Network (ACHN) is Utrecht University's student-led initiative centered in Utrecht, celebrating African & Caribbean heritage by means of social and educational activities. Create a supportive space for students of African and Caribbean heritage to feel seen, heard, and celebrated,

3. Develop a network of African and Caribbean UU students, UU staff members and you

ng professionals in Utrecht to share experiences and advice about social and professional life as well as opportunities in the Netherlands,

4. Facilitate spaces to host events that celebrate and highlight African and Caribbean cultures,

5. Share knowledge and raise awareness concerning discrimination against people of African and Caribbean descent by sharing experiences and providing a platform to speak on anti-racist and decolonizing efforts in the Netherlands. Our mission is to educate, empower and entertain our fellow students, UU staff members, + alumni!

This panel will be focused on ways to (re)connect with our roots. Being far from home can be tough and knowing ways to connect to home can be therapeutic and less isolating.
