Salamat po sa mga pamilyang dumalo sa Sama-sama Amstelveen kahapon! Natuto ang mga bata ng isang well-loved Filipino folk song not only in Tagalog, pati na rin sa Cebuano! Nag-enjoy din ang lahat sa game kung saan sila ay nag-crab walk para linisin ang mga kalat sa dagat. At para sa crafts, nakapag uwi ang mga bata ng sarili nilang gawa na crab claw machine. 🦀

August is Buwan ng Wika in the Philippines—a time to celebrate the richness of our languages, stories, traditions, and culture.

To mark this special month, join us for a fun and lively reading and singing of “Tong, Tong, Tong, Pakitong-Kitong”—a beloved Filipino children’s song about the playful challenge of catching a little crab!

This book will be read and sung in Tagalog and Cebuano (also with English translation), giving our kids a chance to discover the beauty of our Philippine languages.

Let's read, sing, and celebrate our languages together! Sama sama tayong magbasa, kumanta, at ipagdiwang ang ating mga wika! 🇵🇭

Ang Haluhalo Espesyal ay kuwento ni Jackie, isang batang babae na nanaginip tungkol sa mahiwagang kusina ng kanyang lola, si Lola Itang. Sa pamamagitan ng ginhawa at pagmamahal na hatid ng kanyang mga paboritong pagkaing Pilipino, unti-unti siyang gumaling mula sa matagal na pagkakasakit.

Ipinagdiriwang ng aklat ang kahalagahan ng pamilya, pagkaing Pilipino, at pamana ng kulturang Pilipino. Tampok dito ang mga tradisyonal na pagkaing tulad ng bibingka, tsamporado, ensaymada, turon, at haluhalo bilang mga sagisag ng pagmamahal, paggaling, at pagkakaisa.

Haluhalo Espesyal tells the story of Jackie, a young girl whose dream of her grandmother Lola Itang's magical kitchen helps her recover from a long illness through the comfort of beloved Filipino dishes.

UPDATE:

Dear everyone,

We are canceling the Sama Sama Book Reading Event scheduled for this Saturday, June 27.

Due to the unfavorable weather conditions, we have decided it best to take a precaution as the venue itself is not the best place to be at during that time. It is forecasted to be 37 deg on Saturday at 2pm, and the room is not well ventilated.

We will be back for more events after the summer holidays! 😉

Meanwhile, there is one more event lined up which you and your kids can also attend on 11 July at the Dutch Language Cafe in The Hague.
