Dear Thriving Beauties!

Happy Tuesday! We hope you're all keeping well despite the weather. 🌦️

A big thank you to everyone who joined our "Thriving in the Dutch Market: Cross-Cultural Communication and Workplace Success" session, and special thanks to our facilitator, Caitriona Rush, for an insightful and engaging workshop.

Some key takeaways:
Dutch directness is not personal; ask questions to gain clarity and grow.
Understanding the differences between linear and hierarchical cultures, as well as the Dutch approach to communication, planning, and time, can help us integrate and succeed in the workplace.

A special thank you to Leena Namour for sharing her inspiring journey. Her resilience, continuous learning, and determination after many job rejections eventually led her to her dream job a reminder that persistence truly pays off.

Thank you all for being part of this journey. Together, we continue to learn, grow, and thrive! Cheers to your extraordinary self!đź’™

Happy Tuesday, Beauties!

One of the key components of success in the workplace is the ability to communicate effectively in multi-actor environments. As migrants integrating into Dutch society and the Dutch labour market, understanding workplace culture and communication styles is essential for professional growth and success.

Effective communication requires clarity, active listening, and adaptability. As Peter Drucker wisely said, "The most important thing in communication is to hear what is not said." Likewise, Stephen R. Covey reminds us to "Seek first to understand, then to be understood." These principles are invaluable for building strong professional relationships and thriving in diverse workplaces.

At Thrive by Lydia Generation, our mission is simple: to help migrant women thrive in the Netherlands. We are delighted to invite you to an empowering Masterclass with CaitrĂona Rush, a seasoned professional with extensive experience in cross-cultural communication and professional development. CaitrĂona has supported countless internationals in navigating workplace expectations with confidence, building meaningful professional relationships, and succeeding in multicultural work environments.

Compliments of the Season, Beauties!

The season of Easter symbolises selflessness, sacrifice, and love. It reflects so deeply the journey of migrant women strong and resilient women who leave behind comfort, stability, and past achievements in pursuit of a better life, safety, education, or for the sake of family, only to begin again in a new environment. Along this journey, many are faced with challenges such as legal documentation, finding stable employment, emotional stress, isolation, integration struggles, and language barriers. Over time, confidence can begin to fade, self-doubt creeps in, and impostor syndrome takes hold, causing many to settle for less or feel stuck.

But just as Easter represents renewal, there is always an opportunity to rebuild and rediscover ourselves. Through continuous growth, seminars, networking, and transformational training, we can renew our minds, rebuild our confidence, and reclaim our full potential. As beautifully said by Mother Teresa, “In life, we must make sacrifices for things to work to our advantage. A sacrifice to be real must cost, must hurt, and must empty ourselves.”

We warmly invite you to join our April session on Overcoming Self-Doubt & Impostor Syndrome on 25th April 2026, with a walk-in at 11:30 AM and the session running from 12:00- 4:00 PM at Het Koorenhuis, Prinsegracht 27, 2512 EW Den Haag.

Dear Beauties,

Happy weekend! We are still reeling in the spirit of the very empowering International Women’s Day. In the words of one of our speakers, “International Women’s Day is indeed reflective and empowering, but what follows next must be consistent personal development and continuous networking.”

The vision of the Thrive - Migrant Women Program is to provide a platform where highly skilled migrant women and experts, spouses and partners can learn, connect, grow, and truly thrive.
Relocating to a new country can be exciting, but it can also be overwhelming. After the initial excitement, many women begin to face the realities of documentation processes, job searching, rebuilding professional identity, and navigating a new culture. In this transition, many highly skilled migrant women, especially expert spouses and partners, experience isolation, loneliness, and a loss of confidence.

Through the first pillar of the Thrive program, which is Self-Reinvention, we intentionally create a supportive space where women can rediscover who they are and who they are becoming in their new environment. Self-reinvention is about reclaiming your voice, recognising your strengths, and rebuilding confidence after the disruptions migration can bring.

At THRIVE, we are working toward preventing isolation and loneliness, helping migrant women, expert spouses, and partners reclaim their power. Together, we are pulling down the stronghold of impostor syndrome that often causes many women to shrink in confidence when they arrive in a new country. Our goal is to create a space where women can rebuild confidence, learn, grow, connect, and truly thrive.

As part of this journey, we invite you to join an empowering workshop on:

Finding Yourself Again After Migration: Rebuilding Confidence, Identity & Purpose.

Our guest speaker, Zoi Mylona, Psychologist and Certified Systemic Therapist, will guide us through a reflective and empowering session to help you reconnect with your strengths, identity, and purpose.

Date: 28 March 2026

Walk-in: 11:30 AM | Session: 12:00 – 4:00 PM

Venue: Het Koorenhuis, Prinsegracht 27, Den Haag

Don’t let uncertainty stop you from growing. The more you learn, the more clarity you gain. Only 16 spots are available. Please register early if your schedule allows.

Happy Midweek, Beauties!

Compliments of the season to our beautiful, resilient, and progressive Thrivers. As we step into this new year at Thrive Community, we declare it a Year of Shift, a shift from surviving to truly thriving. We move forward with confidence, hope, and the assurance that we will not only meet our goals but thrive beyond expectation in all our endeavours.

The journey of migration is deeply transformational, and it is not linear.
Cultural integration takes time, patience, compassion, and self-love.
According to John Trivonovitch, cultural adjustment unfolds in four cyclical stages, not a straight line:

1. Honeymoon Stage: Excitement, hope, and curiosity define this phase. Everything feels new and full of possibility as migrant women arrive, inspired by life and opportunities in the Netherlands. 2. Hostility Stage: Challenges emerge. Language barriers, cultural differences, and navigating systems can feel overwhelming, leading to frustration, self-doubt, and anxiety. This stage is difficult, yet a normal and necessary part of growth.
3. Integration Stage: Confidence builds. Women begin to understand the culture, communicate more effectively, form networks, and develop a growing sense of belonging and empowerment.
4. Home Stage: The Netherlands feels like home. Women actively contribute, lead, and belong while honouring both their roots and their future. Integration becomes intentional and sustainable.

At Thrive, we recognise that the migrant journey is emotional and often cyclical, but every stage brings growth. Our mission is to support women in moving beyond the challenges of adjustment into stages of integration and belonging, where confidence, clarity, and purpose can flourish. Guided by the belief that your state of mind shapes your story, and your story shapes your strategies.

Our programs focus on meaningful mindset shifts from isolation to connection, from limiting beliefs to empowerment, and from confusion to clarity. With the support of our facilitators and the Thrive team, women are empowered to reframe their stories, build emotional resilience, and take intentional steps toward the lives they are creating in the Netherlands.

We begin the year with purpose through Clarity Over Chaos: Mental Health Tools for Decision-Making, Focus, and Hope for Migrant Women, facilitated by the International Mental Care psychologists Anna Zacharelou and Celina Strater, alongside a calming breathing session with Coach Veena Joseph. This session is designed to help participants pause instead of panic, reduce anxiety, regain focus, and move forward with one clear goal at a time.

Gratitude.

As we reflect on 2025, we are deeply grateful for the growth we’ve experiencednumerically, personally, and collectively. Advancement begins with gratitude, and none of this would be possible without a formidable community.

To our dedicated team, advisors, board members, facilitators, participants, partners, and sponsors, thank you for your commitment, wisdom, and belief in our mission. You embody the spirit of Ubuntu: “I am because we are.” Your presence is the catalyst that keeps us moving forward.

Because of your support, migrant women are moving from isolation to confidence, from uncertainty to participation, and from limitation to possibility.

As the year comes to an end, take a moment to reflect: What are you grateful for? Name five things.

Wishing you an empowering holiday season and a New Year filled with purpose, growth, and positive energy.

“Celebrate what you want to see more of.” Tom Peters
