IFMSA-Maastricht IFMSA-Maastricht is een studievereniging van meer dan 100 medische studenten.

The International Federation of Medical Students' Associations (IFMSA) is een internationale non-profit studentenorganisatie die zich richt op de bewustwording en de verbetering van de Global Health in de samenleving. Door op lokaal niveau veel verschillende, interessante, leerrijke, leuke... activiteiten te organiseren, creëert IFMSA meer bewustzijn (onder de medestudenten) met betrekking tot het onderwerp 'global health'.

SCORA POST 🌸 Menstrual Hygiene Day – May 28 🌸 (dutch below)

Your period is a normal and healthy part of life. Taking care of your menstrual hygiene is important for your comfort, confidence, and health 💗

✨ Menstrual hygiene tips:
• Change pads/tampons regularly (every 4–8 hours depending on your flow)
• Wash your hands before and after changing menstrual products
• Wear clean cotton underwear 🩲 cotton is breathable and helps reduce irritation
• Clean the v***a gently with water and avoid harsh soaps or perfumes
• Stay hydrated and nourish your body with healthy foods such as fruits, vegetables, iron-rich foods, nuts, and whole grains 🥗
• Rest when needed and listen to your body
• Never feel ashamed to ask questions or seek help

Free sanitary pads are available at the university to help support menstrual health and accessibility for everyone 💕

Je menstruatie is een normaal en gezond onderdeel van het leven. Goede menstruele hygiëne is belangrijk voor je comfort, zelfvertrouwen en gezondheid 💗

✨ Tips voor menstruele hygiëne:
• Vervang maandverband/tampons regelmatig (elke 4–8 uur afhankelijk van je menstruatie)
• Was je handen voor en na het vervangen van menstruatieproducten
• Draag schoon katoenen ondergoed 🩲 katoen ademt beter en helpt irritatie voorkomen
• Reinig de v***a voorzichtig met water en vermijd agressieve zeep of parfum
• Drink voldoende water en eet gezond met bijvoorbeeld groenten, fruit, ijzerrijke voeding, noten en volkorenproducten 🥗
• Neem rust wanneer je lichaam daarom vraagt
• Schaam je nooit om vragen te stellen of hulp te zoeken

Er is gratis maandverband beschikbaar op de universiteit om menstruatiegezondheid en toegankelijkheid voor iedereen te ondersteunen 💕

Chlamydia is one of the most common STIs, and one of the most overlooked.
The tricky part? It’s often completely asymptomatic. That means you can have it without noticing anything at all, while it can still cause serious damage.
If left untreated, chlamydia can lead to pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), which may result in chronic pain, infertility, or complications with future pregnancies.
Testing is the only way to know for sure. Don’t wait for symptoms — by the time you feel something, the infection may have already progressed.
Regular testing, open communication, and protection are key to taking care of your sexual health.
