FOEBAR are a homebrew group. We share our homebrew b**r in monthly events and organise other events around b**r.

This is a reminder for our upcoming October competition. The assignment is to brew a b**r with hops from a single European country. The assignment is to make the hops be the standout feature, really making them sing! That's all the limitations you get so a great opportunity to get creative.

You can go old school with hops like Saaz or Fuggles, or go for more modern variants like Jester or Styrian Wolf. Or why not mix hops (from a single country) to create something amazing?

The competition date is 13 October. Enough time to order some hops and plan a brew.

Announcement: the next homebrew meeting on the 14th of July is cancelled, because the world cup semi final will be broadcast in Cafe Gijs.

We are Foebar, an international homebrew group from Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

Posting to Instagram and Facebook every month is a bit of a pain so here is all the information you need:
- We meet monthly. Every second Tuesday of the month at cafe In De Wildeman from 20:00;
- We have competitions roughly every 3 months (focused at learning and nice brewing challenges);
- All information about meetings and competitions can be found at our website foebar dot com;
- We are have an active WhatsApp chat group, the link to join can be found on our website;
- Joining us is easy; show up to our meetings or join our chat group;
- We are open for all; you don't need to brew (yet), we welcome those visiting Amsterdam from abroad.

Even though we don't post here frequently does not mean that we are not active. Come and say hi!

Our first monthly homebrew meeting in 2025 will take place this Tuesday 14th of January. We meet from 20.00 at cafe Gijs (Ceintuurbaan 257, 1074 CZ Amsterdam).

As always we are an open group and everyone can join. If you have any homebrew bring some with you, but you are also very welcome without.

We will reveal and talk about the secret Santa b**rs - and there is a good chance some of these b**rs will be available for sampling.

This year we are organising another Secret Santa bottle swap.

You enter your b**r/cider/mead/other, and receive an equal amount of different homebrews in return to drink over the holiday season!

Sign-up before the end of the month (Thursday 31 October). Bottle drop off and pickup is early December so you can still brew your entry.

Service announcement: our meeting will start at 19.30 this month. Try to be on time as we will have a competition evening and you will not want to miss any of these awesome b**rs :)

Our next meeting will take place this Tuesday 10th of September. We meet from 19.30 at cafe Gijs (Ceintuurbaan 257, 1074 CZ Amsterdam).

Our IPA competition (any style in BJCP or Brewers Association B**r Style Guidelines) will take place. You can just show up with enough IPA to enter the competition or join us to help judge the b**r (you don't need to enter a b**r to join us). For competition details check foebar.com.
