UvA IDEAs bestaat uit studenten met een functiebeperking die er gezamenlijk voor willen zorgen dat iedere student de kans krijgt om alles uit de studie(s) te halen zonder daarbij belemmeringen vanuit de UvA als gevolg van een functiebeperking te ervaren. Ons doel is het creëren van bewustzijn en zichtbaarheid binnen de UvA rondom studeren met een functiebeperking. Het Student Disability Platform i
s in het leven geroepen door het College van Bestuur naar aanleiding van de Nationale Studenten Enquête van 2016. Uit die enquête bleek dat de UvA een aantal verbeterpunten heeft als het gaat om hoe zij studenten met een functiebeperking faciliteren. Denk hierbij aan contact met medestudenten en docenten, uitval tijdens de studie, de toegankelijkheid van de gebouwen, et cetera. Wij vinden dat studeren voor elke (aankomend) student zo soepel mogelijk dient te verlopen en het platform streeft naar een toegankelijke UvA!

UvA IDEAs
UvA IDEAs is made up of students with a disability who want to jointly ensure that every student has the chance to get as much out of their studies as possible without experiencing any obstacles from the UvA arising from their disability. Our goal is to create awareness and visibility within the UvA concerning studying with a disability. The Student Disability Platform was instituted by the Executive Board following the National Student Survey of 2016. This survey showed that there are a number of points for improvement in the way that the UvA facilitates students with a disability. These include contact with fellow students and with lecturers, absence during the programme, accessibility of the buildings, et cetera. We feel that for every (prospective) student, studying should be as obstacle-free as possible, and IDEAs is aiming for an accessible UvA!
