Op deze dag, 15 november 2025, lanceerde de nationale coördinator verantwoordelijk voor de administratie van de organisatie JEUNES FUTURS (Jeugdtoekomst), de heer WATUTA MUTUZA GRIGGS, een campagne om schendingen van kinderrechten aan de kaak te stellen.

Hij sprak zich uit om de aandacht te vestigen op de pijnlijke realiteit van kinderen als oorlogsslachtoffers.

De heer Griggs toonde aan dat gewapende conflicten momenteel families, dorpen en hele levens over de hele wereld verscheuren, met name in de Democratische Republiek Congo. In het hart van deze stille tragedie zijn het de kinderen die de zwaarste prijs betalen.

Beroofd van hun meest fundamentele rechten – het recht op onderwijs, gezondheid, veiligheid en een gelukkige jeugd – leven deze kinderen in angst, honger, ontheemding en pijn.

Een gewonde, getekende en soms gebroken generatie, die er een had moeten zijn van hoop en een mooie toekomst.

We kunnen niet langer zwijgen.

We moeten ons uitspreken, we moeten bewustzijn creëren, maar bovenal *handelen*.
Handelen om te beschermen, te steunen, te herbouwen.
Handelen om elk kind te geven wat het verdient: een toekomst.

Beste humanitaire collega's, oorlog zou nooit iemands jeugd mogen zijn.

Laten we kinderen beschermen tegen oorlog en gewapende conflicten.

A perspective of strengthening common community and humanitarian mechanisms through the method of internal mediation, in order to communicate and raise awareness among armed groups on the rights of children in times of hostilities; to implement direct negotiation activities aimed at their demobilization in order to consolidate lasting peace and security in the world ".

Watch this alarming video about the deplorable situation of children around the world.

Mr. Katunda Ramazani André is recognized for his bravery and determination as one of the young leaders of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), who has dedicated his life to child protection and youth professional development to reduce social unrest and community violence.

He is an advocate for children's rights who has worked on their behalf in the most inaccessible regions affected by armed conflict, adapting his methods to the most complex contexts in the DRC.

In this video, he raises international awareness of serious violations of children's rights during periods of hostility. He urges humanitarian colleagues to implement new mechanisms at all levels—local, national, regional, and international—to protect children.

As a recognized young mediator and trainer in this field, he calls for strengthening the practice of mediation in the peaceful resolution of conflicts, reconciliation, and dialogue during times of hostility worldwide, where war disproportionately affects civilians, particularly children, who are an integral part of the population and not participants in the conflicts.

He suggests an effective international ceasefire and encourages child protection activities, while emphasizing that this is not an easy task. It requires unwavering determination to give children who have escaped armed groups and are victims of armed conflict back the life they should never have had to leave or live.

Ensuring the best interests of every child everywhere should be a cross-cutting objective, because children represent humanity, and our own future depends on them.

The world deserves lasting peace and security.
