Anna Ponomarenko left Kyiv in 2022 with her four-year-old daughter and almost nothing else. She packed chocolates on a production line, tested products that didn't work, and kept going. Then she found spent grain, the by-product breweries pay to get rid of, and turned it into BeerCrackers: a beer snack built for the culture Belgium already has.

Bashar Alshaibani arrived in the Netherlands in 2022, kept forgetting Dutch words, and built an app to fix it. .app is a vocabulary retention app that lets users capture and rehearse the words they actually need in daily life, not words chosen by an algorithm. It now serves 20,000 users across 18 languages.
