“BORN TO KILL” by Maya Zignone

“The use of weapons leads to serious consequences that go beyond physical injury and loss of life. Any object used as a weapon, whether material or immaterial, amplifies the spiral of violence, discrimination and growing aggression towards populations, communities and the most vulnerable, whether they be women, minors, the elderly or people with disabilities.

Every act of coercion, contempt, intolerance on the grounds of gender, ethnicity, religious belief, bullying, or homophobia is a violation of the rights and freedoms of the individual”.

“Borderland 2021” by W***y van den Berg

“Aggression and weapons. Humans are not born with deadly weapons, like the jaws of a wolf, the claws of a lion or the deadly beak of a crow. In the animal kingdom, killing a creature of the same species is very exceptional. When a crow attacks another crow during a territorial dispute, one of these birds will, by nature, submit by showing its weakest spot, which is the base of its skull. This gesture immediately stops the fight of the crows.

We are no crows, but we are a sometimes aggressive species in the possession of manmade weapons which are more deadly than a crow’s beak or lion’s claws.

For us, the motto should be: No weapons!”.

“In the Labyrinth (of Borges)” by Sabatino Cersosimo

“My painting In the Labyrinth (of Borges) is inspired by the short story The House of Asterion by Jorge Luis Borges, in which the Minotaur—a mythological figure often seen as an executioner—is humanized through his fears, fragility, and desire for redemption. The absence of resistance, the refusal to fight, and the surrender to death become, for him, the only path to freedom.

Here the Minotaur is depicted as a man, kneeling in submission, rejecting the logic of violence and conflict. Traces of the mythological creature emerge in the tendrils of taurine horns at the bottom of the painting and in the faint arc above his head. His legs lose their human form, appearing more ethereal and undefined through the rust, reinforcing the sense of transformation and sacrifice”.

“Homo Ludens Est” by Rob Ruimers

“Homo Ludens versus No Weapon. The growing installation “Homo Ludens Est ” is a human playground. Facing humanity and its behaviour does not make one proud. Ruimers states humans only want to play. His sculptures make our strong belief all global problems will be solved by technical solutions ridiculous. Talking starts and ends wars”.

“Time’s Up – No More Weapons” by Pier Giorgio De Pinto

“A vision for the final threshold. We live in an age of fracture. Never before has humanity held so much knowledge, creativity, and technological power—yet never have we been so close to irreversible collapse. This visual manifesto was created to portray that threshold: a critical edge beyond which indifference is no longer an option.

The image shows a world split in two:
On one side, life—dense forests, vibrant greenery, natural harmony; only a few weapons, still possible to eliminate. On the other, devastation—burning cities, apocalyptic flames, clouds of ash.

Across the center, in red and white: “Time’s Up – No More Weapons”. Not just a phrase. A warning. A moment of radical awareness: the time for denial, delay, and delegation is gone.

I created this piece for the event noweapon.world, a platform dedicated to dismantling all forms of systemic violence—physical, political, economic, symbolic.
The world depicted here is not a dystopian fantasy, but a mirror.

It’s up to us to choose which side we want to stand on.
This image is a weapon against weapons.
A wound that speaks.
A threshold between the before and the after.
We cannot wait any longer.
Time’s Up – No More Weapons”.

“Lighthouse 2025” by Nikola Tikoski

“My goal and desire was to use the outline of a weapon and transform it into something beautiful and hopeful. That is why I used the shape of a missile and turned into a lighthouse.

Lighthouses symbolically represent guidance during difficult times, helping people find their when they are lost, and we are truly lost as long as we reach for weapons. Moreover lighthouses provide feelings of hope, comfort and safety. The destructiveness of the missile is reshaped into a beacon of hope and protection, something for which we should strive every passing day”.

“Portrait of María Elena Ríos” by Marcela Perrusquia

“Portrait of María Elena Ríos is mixed media artwork on Canson paper (290 gr) that portrays the activist and saxophonist María Elena Ríos, a survivor and leading voice against the brutal weaponization of acid as a tool of gender-based violence in Mexico. María Elena has spent recent years documenting violence against women and seeking justice for survivors. She is herself a survivor of an acid attack perpetrated by her ex-partner when she manifested her desires of playing the saxophone and pursuing a career in Music – a case that brought national attention to the crisis of violence against women, often perpetrated with readily available, everyday substances transformed into weapons.
In response to this egregious act of violence, María Elena became a leading voice in the fight for legal reform, playing a key role in the creation and promotion of Ley Malena. This landmark legislation directly addresses the destructive power of such attacks, classifying acid attacks as a specific form of gender-based violence and imposing harsher penalties on perpetrators. Through her unwavering advocacy, María Elena continues to push for systemic change and greater protection for women in Mexico, representing a powerful resistance against violence and a pursuit of justice.

I had the honour of interviewing María Elena, and created this portrait as a tribute to her with the intention of sharing her narrative beyond national borders, aiming to contribute to a global dialogue that rejects violence and embraces a world built on safety, justice, and peace”.

“State of mind 2025” by Laura Pedizzi

“Where does the peace start?
What is the starting point?

We can say that a person who is truly in peace with himself self does not need to hurt anyone, does not have to demostrate his power.

Everything begins from you, from the peace that you have inside and you can project onto others”.

“TOMORROWLAND” by Marco Montenovi

“TOMORROWLAND wants to be a SCREAM!!! A scream as red as the blood generated by weapons.

A cry already bloody in the present and addressed to the present, to denounce a possible projection
of the future.

A cry aimed at the future so as not to repeat the past again.

These are the reasons that led to the choice to abruptly interrupt the composition of the two photographic shots with the writing TOMORROWLAND. The writing itself becomes a bullet that passes and tears the space leaving blood between the two visions: the upper one in which a roof of a house destroyed by a bombing is portrayed which, as an archaic symbol of man, stands as a metaphor of his own destruction, and the lower one in which a cemetery is portrayed whose only
living presences are two horses. There is no longer any space for man except underground, to fertilize the grass eaten by horses”.

“Sorry is one of the most hardest things to say, it needs reflection of one self and empathy for the other.
But if you can say ” sorry ” it can be the start of a new beginning”.

“My uncle gave me this stick, so pack your bags or BANG-BANG and you’re gone!

Artwork is called “PIF PAF” – it means BANG BANG in polish. It’s my bad for not making it clearer”.
