Fur belongs to animals. Not on the European market‼️

Russian sable fur is being allowed back onto the EU market. A deeply troubling step — both for animals and at a time when the EU continues to impose sanctions on Russia.

Around 40 sables can be killed for a single fur coat, after spending their lives confined in small cages. 😢

MEP Anja Hazekamp of the Partij voor de Dieren Europa, together with fellow MEPs, is 📢 calling 📢 on the European Commission to reinstate the ban on Russian fur products.

And there is an even bigger question: why is fur still being traded in Europe at all❓

In 2023, 1.5 million EU citizens called for a Fur Free Europe. Their message could hardly be clearer. 💪

🐾 Animals need their fur. We don’t.

Romania’s bears are under threat. 🐻

New legislation allows hundreds of bears to be killed — including bears living peacefully in their natural habitat.

Our Romanian sister party NOA is raising serious concerns about the role of trophy hunting and calling for a different approach.

This October, the Animal Politics Foundation will bring politicians, scientists and animal advocates together in Romania for our World Conference Protecting Bears, Building Bridges.

Because coexistence is possible. And wildlife should be protected, not turned into trophies.

Romania’s bears deserve protection — not a price tag. 🐻💚

In memory of Yosr Tazi 🕊️

We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Yosr Tazi, President of the Abdelhadi Tazi Foundation and a dedicated advocate for knowledge, dialogue and humanity.

We had the privilege of welcoming Yosr to our Animal Politics Foundation World Conference in Marrakech in November 2025. During the conference, he spoke about the importance of our manifesto calling for a humane approach to the situation of stray dogs in Morocco.

We remember Yosr as a warm and generous man, committed to bringing people together and passing knowledge and values on to future generations.

We are grateful that our paths crossed and that he became part of our gathering in Marrakech.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family, friends and everyone who knew and loved him.

Rest in peace, Yosr. Your voice and your contribution will be remembered. 🕊️

Some traditions belong in the past.

Bullfighting is not culture worth preserving when its survival depends on the suffering of animals.

Last weekend in Madrid, we stood alongside thousands of people calling for an end to bullfighting — and for a future in which compassion matters more than tradition.

On 19th September in Madrid, animal protection parties from around the world stood together at Misión Abolición, united by one clear message: bullfighting has no place in a compassionate future. 🐂🤎

Our banner represents something bigger than any one party or country: a growing international movement determined to bring animals into politics — and to turn compassion into change. 🙏

Proud to stand alongside our friends at PACMA and so many others calling for an end to bullfighting in Spain. 🙌

This Saturday, animal protection parties from around the world will stand alongside our Spanish sister party PACMA in Madrid to call for an end to bullfighting.

Cruelty does not become acceptable because it is called tradition. Animals are sentient beings, and their suffering should never be entertainment.

Across countries, cultures and political movements, our message is the same: a future without bullfighting is possible — and it is time to make it reality.

🇪🇨 Meet Keke (Keke (Mónica Cabrera))— bringing animal rights into politics in Ecuador. 🌱🐾

We are proud to introduce Mónica “Keke” Cabrera Bohórquez, a passionate animal rights advocate from Guayaquil who is taking an exciting next step: standing as a candidate for city council.

Keke wants to bring compassion into local politics — advocating for animals, nature and people, from accessible veterinary care and plant-based food initiatives to the protection of Guayaquil’s wildlife, mangroves and waterways.

This is exactly why international animal politics matters. When animal advocates step into the political arena, animals gain something they desperately need: a voice where decisions are made.
