We decided to bring our works together because we feel there is a striking similarity. The objects meet physically and overlap each other literally. They interrupt and transform and give each other a new meaning. Not only do the artworks enter each other’s space, the building becomes a tool in the project as well: the walls are the canvas. Loose objects are swallowed by painting and by that are ta
ken up in the whole. The borders between the works and surroundings dissolve in each other and are in a continuous drift. The visitor will experience this physically, and will have the feeling of walking through an exploded painting. Our working method is characterised by an extreme use of material, and by the love to use simple means: tape, trash, a role of paper and crayon to make something big. Fluorescent colours give an intense life to some cheap over produced objects. We use the full language of painting to search for a permanent state of instability. Some works are like vision altering magical glasses. The new forms that appear give very few grips, but does give recognition like in a dream. Painting should work as dreams: with slow misfits. "Mistakes" that appear while painting, are magnified and strengthened. When the viewer walks through the exhibition, he receives some aggressive visual information, like a mirrored floor. Distortions and blind spots pull the image apart. This leaves no space to be quiet and to adopt a meditative state of art contemplation. We want to create an environment in which the viewer is challenged and sees his perception falling apart, but most of all we want to celebrate the full glory of painting.
