Sometimes, meaningful change begins with a conversation.

On 6 October 2026, our team had the opportunity to visit the Kaduna State Ministry of Humanitarian Kaduna state Ministry Of Humanitarian Affairs for a familiarization meeting with the Honourable Commissioner, Comr. Yunana Markus Barde, and members of the Ministry’s team.

The visit was an opportunity to listen, share perspectives, introduce our work, and explore how organizations and government can work together to reach people and communities that need support the most.

During the meeting, we discussed potential areas of collaboration around humanitarian response, support for vulnerable and underserved populations, community resilience, and sustainable development across Kaduna State.

We are particularly encouraged by the Ministry’s openness to engaging with credible organizations whose work contributes to the wellbeing and development of communities.

At TLWDF, we believe that the life we deserve is built when communities, institutions, government, and development organizations come together around shared priorities and practical solutions.

We look forward to building on this conversation and exploring meaningful opportunities to contribute to a more inclusive, resilient, and thriving Kaduna State.

Happy International Youth Day 2026 |Youth at the Heart of Change

Today, on International Youth Day, we celebrate the energy, creativity, resilience, and leadership of young people shaping a better future.

At The Life We Deserve Foundation, we believe young people are not simply beneficiaries of development, they are drivers of change, innovators, entrepreneurs, advocates, and community leaders.

This year, we reaffirm our commitment to supporting young people to learn, lead, create, and thrive, because when young people have the right opportunities, communities become stronger and societies move forward.

On Wednesday, July 22, 2026, Amina Ibrahim Babbaji walked into the United Nations House in Abuja to represent The Life We Deserve Foundation at the 2026 World Youth Skills Day commemoration.

She didn't just attend another event. She came back with a powerful reminder.

As conversations unfolded among young people, policymakers, development partners, and industry leaders, one message stood out clearly: building a better future for young people requires much more than teaching skills.

A young person can learn digital literacy, entrepreneurship, climate innovation, or artificial intelligence. But without access to mentorship, opportunities, networks, practical experience, and an enabling ecosystem, those skills often remain untapped potential. This is a reality we see every day.

At TLWDF, our work has never been about organizing trainings simply to count the number of participants. It is about helping young people move from learning to leading, from skills to opportunities, and from potential to impact.

Whether through our climate entrepreneurship programs, digital skills initiatives, or community-based projects, we believe skills become truly meaningful when they create livelihoods, solve local challenges, and empower young people to shape the future of their communities.

The discussions around the Nigerian Youth Employment Action Plan (2025–2030) further reinforced what we have always believed: meaningful youth development requires collaboration between governments, civil society, the private sector, and young people themselves.

As the world of work continues to evolve, the demand for digital, AI, green, and entrepreneurial skills will only continue to grow. But equally important are the human skills that technology cannot replace, critical thinking, communication, adaptability, collaboration, and resilience.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Nigeria Youth SDGs Network for nominating us to participate in this important event. We are equally grateful to the organizers and partners for convening a platform that fostered meaningful dialogue, knowledge sharing, and collaboration among young people and key stakeholders committed to advancing youth employment and skills development in Nigeria.

These conversations remind us that lasting impact is built through partnerships, shared learning, and collective action. We look forward to translating these insights into stronger programs and greater opportunities for the young people and communities we serve.

What if all a young person needed was one stage, one opportunity, and one person who believed in them?

On Saturday, 18 July, 2026, we witnessed exactly what happens when talent meets opportunity.

As we commemorated World Youth Skills Day 2026, The Life We Deserve Foundation, in partnership with BYY Consults/Communication, brought together passionate young people for a day of learning, inspiration, and action. But this year's summit was different.

For the first time, we introduced a Talent Showcase, a platform where young people could confidently share their gifts, creativity, and innovations with the world.

From music and spoken word to innovation, entrepreneurship, and other remarkable talents, the room was filled with courage, passion, and endless potential.

We are especially proud that 15 outstanding young talents were given the chance to showcase their skills and talent, with a token of motivation, reaffirming our belief that when young people are given the right platform, they don't just perform, they inspire.

At TLWDF, we believe skills go beyond certificates. They are about confidence, creativity, resilience, and the ability to create opportunities where none exist.

To every participant, volunteer, speaker, partner, and supporter, thank you for making this celebration unforgettable. And to every young person who stepped onto that stage, remember this: your talent is a gift, but your courage to share it is what will change the world.

This is only the beginning.
