Flood Response in Yola South: Ensuring Water Safety for Affected Communities.

Valfasam Care Initiative joined hands with other partners in a swift emergency response to the flood incident in Yola South.

As part of our intervention, Valfasam Care Initiative was actively involved in the Water Testing Group, tasked with assessing the safety of drinking water in affected communities and camps.

We collected water samples from key locations, and in the next 24 hours, the results will reveal whether the water is safe for consumption or requires chlorination.

Clean water is life-saving in emergencies.
Until the results are out, we encourage everyone to:

- Boil water before drinking.
- Use water purification tablets distributed during the intervention and if available.
- Store water in clean, covered containers.
- Avoid open defecation to prevent contamination.

For those in flood-prone areas:
- Stay alert to weather updates.
- Elevate valuables and important documents.
- Avoid walking or driving through floodwaters.
- Move to higher ground early if necessary.

Together, we’re taking steps to ensure safety, restore dignity, and protect lives.

Today is World Day Against Trafficking in Persons

This year’s theme ;
“Connecting the Dots. Strengthening Communities. Preventing Trafficking”
This reminds us that ending trafficking starts with all of us.

Children are trafficked every day for labor, sexual exploitation, early marriage, and more often by people they know and trust. The signs are subtle, but the impact is devastating.

By raising awareness, protecting vulnerable families, reporting suspicious activity, and educating communities — we connect the dots and stop trafficking before it starts.

At Valfasam Care Initiative, we are committed to:

Promoting child rights.
Strengthening local protection systems.
Equipping communities with life-saving knowledge.

Let’s work together to ensure every child is safe, seen, and supported.
