IWD Yola 2026 was more than an event, it was a movement.🚀

We brought together passionate women, inspiring speakers, dedicated volunteers, supportive partners, and a powerful community committed to growth, innovation, and inclusion in tech and beyond.

From insightful conversations to meaningful connections, every session reminded us why empowering women is essential for building a more inclusive future. The knowledge shared, confidence built, and networks formed will continue to create ripple effects far beyond this day.

We are proud of the impact we created together and grateful to everyone who contributed their voice, time, and energy to make this conference truly memorable.

The journey continues , stronger, bolder, and more determined to create opportunities for more women to learn, lead, and thrive.

We extended our International Women’s Day outreach beyond schools into the community, hosting a Digital Literacy & Empowerment session for 50 women at Damare IDP Camp, Girei.

In collaboration with Tent to School Education Initiative and Devherskills, Northeast Women in Tech. This session focused on a critical but often overlooked need:
Safe and confident use of mobile phones in today’s digital world

Through practical, relatable teaching, participants learned how to:
• Recognize phone scams and fraudulent messages
• Protect personal and financial information
• Identify warning signs of suspicious calls
• Use WhatsApp for communication and small-scale business

For many of the women, this was more than a training, it was their first step toward digital confidence and economic possibility.

This is what inclusion looks like.
Not just access to technology, but the knowledge to use it safely and meaningfully.

Grateful to our facilitators Hauwa Enya Rufai, and Esther Fimber, and the incredible support team Zacham Happiness Kabantiok, Zahra Idries who made this possible.

We concluded this phase of our at Sanda Girls Secondary School, engaging 40 students and bringing our total reach to over 150 girls across Yola.

This final session reinforced the core message of the campaign: that girls belong in STEM, and that with the right exposure and encouragement, they can thrive as future innovators and leaders.

By combining International Women’s Day awareness with real-life examples of women in technology, the campaign created meaningful and lasting impressions.

This is more than outreach, it is IMPACT!.

At Baptist Academy, we engaged 50 students in one of our most interactive sessions yet.

Beyond awareness, this session focused on helping students understand the practical relevance of STEM and how women are actively shaping the future of technology.

The Women Tech Heroes segment sparked meaningful conversations, as students explored real examples of women driving change and innovation.

Creating these spaces allows young girls to move from curiosity to confidence and from awareness to aspiration.

Our outreach continued at Zamaki Academy, where we engaged 30 students in a session designed to build awareness, confidence, and possibility.

Through discussions on International Women’s Day and stories of women leading in technology, the session created a strong connection between global conversations and the students’ personal realities.

It was inspiring to see how quickly the students began to relate to these stories, asking questions, sharing thoughts, and envisioning themselves in similar spaces.

These moments reinforce the importance of access, visibility, and intentional engagement.
