🌍 SDG 17 — Partnership for All

No meaningful change happens in isolation.

The challenges we face — poverty, inequality, climate change, insecurity, poor education, weak systems — are too complex for one person, one group, or one institution to solve alone. This is why partnership is not optional; it is essential.
SDG 17 reminds us that progress happens when we choose collaboration over competition, shared responsibility over individual effort, and unity over silence. When government works with communities, when organizations support one another, when young people lend their voices, and when individuals show up consistently, solutions become stronger and more sustainable.
Partnership is about recognising that everyone has a role.
No contribution is too small.
No voice is insignificant.
When we partner, we share knowledge, resources, ideas, and strength. We fill gaps, amplify impact, and ensure that no one is left to carry the burden alone. Development becomes possible not because one person did everything, but because many people did something — together.
As we reflect on the SDGs, this goal ties everything together. Without partnership, the goals remain intentions. With partnership, they become action.
Partnership for all is how we move forward.
Together.

Empower Her: Skills, Mindset, and Purpose for Economic Independence! — Says RUFAI HAUWA ENYA

Rufai Hauwa Enya, with state code AD/24C/1294, from the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) CDS Group, successfully executed her Personal Community Development Service Project titled:

“Empower Her: Building Confidence and Purpose Through Mindsets and Skills.”

The project was designed to empower young women and girls by equipping them with practical, income-generating skills, while strengthening their mindset, confidence, and sense of purpose as tools for economic independence and self-reliance.

During the program, participants were trained in liquid soap production, shampoo making, and cake making, providing them with hands-on vocational skills they can apply to start small businesses, support their families, and contribute meaningfully to their communities. Alongside the practical sessions, Hauwa facilitated discussions on business mindset, self-belief, goal setting, and resilience, helping participants understand that skills combined with the right mindset create lasting empowerment.

The sessions were interactive, practical, and engaging, allowing participants to learn by doing, ask questions, and gain clarity on how to turn these skills into sustainable sources of income.

In her remarks, Hauwa emphasized that true empowerment goes beyond motivation — it is about giving women the skills, confidence, and mindset needed to stand on their own. Participants left the program inspired, skilled, and more confident in their ability to create value and shape their future.

Hauwa expressed her heartfelt appreciation to her Schedule Officer, Mr. Monday Ethan, who came out to personally support the project; the Head of Community, the Women Leader, and the Secretary for their valuable contributions and support. She also appreciated her fellow corps members who showed up in solidarity and assisted throughout the program, as well as the facilitator who handled the cake-making training for generously sharing practical knowledge and skills.

This initiative strongly aligns with SDG 5 (Gender Equality), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and SDG 1 (No Poverty), reinforcing the importance of equipping women with skills for sustainable livelihoods.

Together, we continue to empower, equip, and uplift — because when women gain skills, families grow stronger and communities prosper.
