Purported Salary Unpayment Saga: An Assault On A Uniform Officer of The Federal Republic of Nigeria and The Entire Nigerian MOPOL Force
By: The Affected MOPOL Officer

I am writing this to set the record straight and appeal to the conscience of the general public.
I am a MOPOL personnel originally from Cross River State, posted to Bayelsa State in April 2026. After my deployment, I started working as a uniformed security officer at Paggies Luxury Apartments two months ago. I do not know these ladies personal faces, I have never had any prior personal encounter with them, and I have never neglected my duty to protect lives and property.
What happened on that day was not a case of an employer ordering staff to be "beaten and tortured" as circulating online reports falsely claim. It was an outright, unprovoked physical assault on my person—an active, uniformed officer of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

What Actually Transpired
Around 8:00 AM, I was conducting my routine security patrol around the apartment premises. Two ladies—later identified as Funkebi and Mercy—knocked at the gate. Because their faces were completely unfamiliar to me, I asked for their identities through the gate as standard security procedure. They refused to answer with one responding to my "good morning" reluctantly, so I returned to my post. Shortly after, they gained entry alongside our facility manager who took them in, went upstairs to inform the Director who was resting and came back downstairs and was later out of sight.
I observed the situation closely.
Some minutes later, one of the ladies went back outside, handed her bags to a vendor along the street, and stripped off her outer accessories in a clear, aggressive manner as if preparing for a physical fight. She then returned, bypassed standard reception, and went directly to where my boss was resting.
Despite her aggressive tone, my boss remained calm, spoke to her humbly, and instructed me to guide her downstairs to the manager’s office so the matter could be addressed properly as according to hearsays, she has not been payed because;
1. The person who employed her can't give proper records of when she was employed, what her role was
2. She left work without any proper information and the director only got to find out later that someone with her name was once employed and had already left her job or disappeared.
3. Note: the director is not in charge of employments, payments, etc. He only gets reports from his manager and the said manager that allegedly employed her is also no longer working with Paggies Luxury Apartments.
So,
As I stepped in to direct her downstairs, she pounced on me.
She grabbed me with both hands, scratched, pinched, and repeatedly struck me. Her colleague joined in the attack. Before I could process the sudden violence, I was bleeding heavily from multiple wounds (attached are few evidences of the incident altercation and wounds) and my uniform singlet was completely torn off my body by her force.

The Truth About Being "Tied Up"
I call on the public to understand the reality of what happened next: The lady was not "beaten or tortured." She was restrained because she was violent.
Bleeding and under active physical attack, I called my colleagues for assistance. To prevent her from inflicting further physical harm on me or anyone else, we used the very singlet she had torn off my body as a temporary handcuff to tie her hands and hold her down so we could take her to the law enforcement to take over.
We immediately transported both ladies to the authorities at Zone 16.

The Evidence at the Station
When we arrived at Zone 16, the officers on duty were shocked to see an active officer bleeding with severe wounds caused by a civilian. Shortly after, the lady's associates arrived, including a Corps member and a Police Officer (Suppo) who is a relative to the corp member (a friend to this said lady).
Rather than denying the behavior, the Corps member explicitly admitted to us that the lady has severe anger issues and is known for violent outbursts when upset, pleading with me to "have a forgiving spirit."
While her relative(brother or boyfriend as they claimed) was busy pleading with me outside the counter to forgive her, he was simultaneously going back to the counter, trying to negotiate the monetary claim at the counter. Meanwhile, my torn singlet—which served as the restraint during the attack—had been hidden inside her bag. We had to retrieve it and lay it on the station counter as physical evidence of the assault. I eventually had to leave to seek medical attention for my bleeding wounds.

A Direct Appeal to the Public
I urge the public not to be misled by twisted online narratives that turn an aggressor into a victim.
• This was not an assault ordered by an employer; it was a physical attack on a uniformed officer carrying out his duty.
• The restraint used on her was a direct, necessary response to an ongoing physical assault, using the very garment she destroyed.
I ask the general public to look closely at the facts and see this for what it truly is: an unprovoked assault on a MOPOL officer. Male officers and security personnel deserve protection under the law, and violent physical attacks against officers on duty should never be brushed aside or reframed to mislead the public.

Thank You All.
More information and details about me will be shared to the necessary authorities when the need arise.

Just In:

Hon. Fred Apoh recently received members of his political family in his office in what was a long-overdue meeting. The gathering provided an opportunity to reconnect, exchange ideas, and share moments together as they have always done.

The visit came with even greater joy as it served as a celebration of the recent inauguration of two members of the political family as President and Vice President of the Agbia Youth Council. Congratulating them on their well-deserved victory, Hon. Apoh noted that seeing young people around him grow, earn the confidence of their people, and rise into positions of leadership remains one of the greatest rewards of his commitment to human capital development.

Speaking as a leader, brother, and mentor, he reminded them that his responsibility extends beyond celebrating their achievements. He emphasized the importance of continually mentoring and preparing them for greater responsibilities, encouraging them to lead with humility, seek wise counsel before making decisions, carry their executive members along, and always prioritize the collective interest of all Agbia youths. He also reaffirmed his unwavering support for their administration.

Responding on behalf of the newly inaugurated leadership, the President and Vice President expressed profound appreciation for Hon. Apoh's mentorship, encouragement, and unwavering belief in their abilities. They pledged not to disappoint him or the people who entrusted them with leadership, assuring him of their commitment to serving with integrity, dedication, and excellence to build an administration that every Agbia youth and the wider society would be proud of.

They further acknowledged that the Human Capital Development Agenda with Hon. Fred Apoh is founded on the vision of identifying, nurturing, and empowering people, building capacity, creating opportunities, and raising selfless leaders who will make meaningful contributions to society. They reaffirmed their commitment to upholding these ideals throughout their tenure. This version reads like an official press statement while maintaining the warm, family-centered tone.
