In a heartfelt celebration, the Wind of Progress Forum honors their esteemed leader, Hon Chief Berry Negerese, on the occasion of his birthday anniversary. The state coordinator, Hon Barrister Japan Udoji, delivered a touching eulogy celebrating Chief Berry's extraordinary contributions and leadership.

Wind of Progress Forum Leader Paid Condolence Visit to Late Ken Kayama’s Family

In a heartfelt gesture, Hon Chief Berry Negerese, leader of the Wind of Progress Forum, visited the family of the late Elder Ken Kayama on June 16, 2025. Accompanied by some members of his team, the visit took place at Kayama’s residence in Akenfa, Yenagoa, as the family prepares to commence the traditional rites of three days canopy dropping.

During the visit, Chief Negerese expressed his condolences, encouraging the bereaved family to find strength and fortitude in God during this difficult time. He remarked on the significant impact that Elder Kayama had on the people of Ekeremor Lga and Bayelsa state , describing him as a "great hero and father" whose legacy will be cherished.

The condolence visit marks the beginning of the traditional rituals honoring the late elder, reflecting the people’s respect and love for a man who dedicated his life to serving others. Dignitaries among the delegation includes, Hon Victor K Ebiyekon( State Secretary General Wind of Progress Forum), Mr Mark Patani, Mr Denbofa Baike and others.

Chief Negerese and his team offered their support to the family, reinforcing the importance of unity and resilience in times of loss. As the family mourns, they also celebrate the life and achievements of Elder Ken Kayama, whose contributions will not be forgotten.

In a recent media chat, the State Coordinator of the forum, Hon. Japan Udoji, alongside Secretary Hon. Victor Ebiyekon, extolled Mrs. Negerese’s virtues. In a remarkable display of appreciation, the Concerned Youth for Governance Association, led by Comr. Collins Erepamo Stephen, visited the Wind of Progress Forum's secretariat in GRA Otiotio to honor Hon. Chief Berry Negerese, De Tukpa of Iduwini Kingdom. The meeting highlighted the significant contributions of Chief Berry to the state.

During the visit, Collins and his delegation expressed their admiration for Chief Berry's extensive humanitarian efforts, which span a wide range of initiatives, from empowering students to uplifting women in Bayelsa State and other gamuts of activities . In his speech, Collins praised Chief Berry as a leader who not only guides but leads by practical example, emphasizing his sacrificial leadership style.

“We recognize your invaluable contributions to the growth and development of Bayelsans. That’s why we are here—to appreciate your efforts and encourage you to continue this noble work,” Collins stated. He also extended an invitation to Chief Berry and the Wind of Progress Forum to participate in the upcoming International Youth Day program, highlighting the importance of their presence among the youth of Bayelsa.

In response, Chief Berry expressed his gratitude for the warm words of encouragement. “I appreciate your recognition, Collins. It’s inspiring to see a youth like you making strides in our state. I’m pleased with your growth and progress,” he said. He assured the delegation of his support for their upcoming program and encouraged them to remain productive contributors to Bayelsa State.

This meeting not only reinforced the bond between youth leaders and established figures but also underscored the collective commitment to fostering development and empowerment in the region. As both parties look forward to future collaborations, the spirit of unity and progress remains strong among the youth of Bayelsa.

Yesterday,In a significant gathering held at the secretariat of the Wind of Progress Forum, the esteemed leader, Hon Chief Berry Negerese and De Tukpa of ancient Iduwini kingdom welcomed Bayelsa born Queen,Miss Elizabeth Emmanuel, the newly crowned Miss Nollywood, Culture and Tourism Nigeria, and CEO of House of Gold Film Entertainment. This event, attended by key stakeholders, marks a pivotal moment for the future of the entertainment industry in Bayelsa State.

During her speech, Queen Elizabeth expressed her admiration for Hon Chief Berry Negerese, commending his laudable commitment to humanitarian services and support across the state. She stated, "You are one of Bayelsa's vision-driven leaders that I have followed from a distance. Today, I am glad to be here to share innovative ideas on how we can collaboratively elevate the Bayelsa State entertainment industry to become a significant player in the global market."

The Queen emphasized the potential of the entertainment sector, which stands as the second-largest economy worldwide. She sought of the wind of progress forum partnership with the House of Gold Film Entertainment Academy, an organization dedicated to training and supporting aspiring filmmakers.

In response, Chief Berry expressed gratitude for the Queen's recognition of the Wind of Progress Forum's contributions to society. He assured her that her request would be taken seriously as they will be glad to strive to contribute to the industry by nurturing more film directors, producers, and actors capable of competing with established industry leaders from the state . He also encouraged her to seek government support to ensure Bayelsa entertainment industry strive competitively in the global market.
