The Youth Empowerment and Development Initiative (YEDI) is a newly established NGO in NIgeria committed to effective and innovative approaches to development in Nigeria. Our model has been tried and tested in some African Countries and so readily adaptated for the Nigerian setting. The programmes and projects implemented by YEDI focus on educating, empowering and inspiring the development of chil
dren, youths and adults and automatically communities in Nigeria. YEDI is proud to introduce her first program in Nigeria. YEDI is partnering with GrassrootSoccer (International NGO), ExxonMobil Foundation and the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB). The program dubbed “Grazrutsoka” adapts the highly effective model of football for development in the Nigeria context. Grassrootsoccer (GRS) has for almost a decade successfully used the power of football to educate, inspire, and mobilize communities to stop the spread of HIV, Malaria and other diseases.
