David Mone Foundation ~ Unicef_nigeria at chamo primary school, Jigawa State, Northwest Nigeria, children are enjoying lessons in an upgraded classroom.

The school is among many been upgraded with climate-resilient roof, ventilation and wash facilities. Through support and partnership schools can become a model place for learning, encouraging students participation and reducing out of school children in our society.

1 in 4 Nigerians are carrier of the Sickle Cell gene, while 50 - 90% of children born with SCD do no get to see their 5th birthday.

Government and partners must urgently strengthen primary health care, reach children at highest risk and provide adequate health services for the most vulnerable.
