Rotary Clubs in Warri Donate Four Mono Pumps to Iyara Community
Warri, Nigeria — Monday 13 April, 2026 —
In fulfilment of Rotary International’s mission of providing service to others, four Rotary Clubs in Warri—RC Okpe, RC Osubi, RC GRA, and RC Effurun Gateway—have jointly constructed and commissioned four mono pump boreholes for the benefit of Iyara community.
The boreholes will serve residents of Ayiwe, Okpe I & II, and Ogorode streets, providing reliable access to clean water.
The commissioning ceremony was a memorable occasion, with the Iyara community turning out in large numbers to welcome the Rotary Clubs.
The event was graced by Assistant Governor Nicholas Otoboh, alongside a distinguished team of Rotary leaders, including CP Festus Esharenena of RC Effurun Gateway (also Adviser to RC Okpe), President of RC Effurun Gateway, CP Alex Ilenikhena of RC Okpe, and the Presidents of RC Osubi and RC GRA, among others.
Speaking at the event, AG Nicholas Otoboh emphasized Rotary’s commitment to community service: “This project reflects our collective dedication to improving lives and meeting essential needs. Access to clean water is a fundamental right, and Rotary is proud to support Iyara community in this way.”
Community leaders expressed heartfelt gratitude, noting that the boreholes will significantly ease the daily challenges of water access. Pictures and videos of the event capture the joy and appreciation of the Iyara residents.
